Default 2002 Firbird Production Numbers!!

I popped open my Pontiac Mag that you get for free when you buy a car..(One helluva way to get a magazine subscription eh? )...
And I found 'The Numbers'
I quickly scanned and OCR'd the page and am posting it. Additionally, I'd like to find a further breakdown on different combo's.
If anyone else has, or comes across this info, PLEASE POST IT.
(If this info has already been posted, please forgive me..)

Only 901 Formulas!! And I KNOW my special ordered 3.23 !TC BSM Formula must be conservatively in the 200-300 Range..Pfft..It realistically may be much lower. I may truely have a 'rare bird' on my hands.
Those NHRA editions... I didnt even know they made em in 02!!! I thought they stopped making those. Otherwise, I would have tried to get one.

My 98 I have only been able to figure on being one of about 700 with its combo, mainly because it doesnt have TC. (Remember, 98 was one of the lowest production years because of, as I understand it, the temporary shut down at the plant to finish re-tooling for the LS1)

Looking at the numbers, there were only 30,690 lucky SOB's to score a true 'Last of Breed' car.

Long Live the Firebird!!!

You've got to love Formulas. Anyone know where I can find the 2000 numbers? I know where to find 1998, 2001, and 2002 production numbers but I've never seen them for my year. I wonder how rare my 2000, black, hardtop, with 3.23's is?

Where are those 'other numbers'
I'd like to spend the time and post those numbers.
It would be greatly appreciated!

You can find the 1998 production numbers at www.theformulasource.com under 98UP production numbers. I have the 2001 production numbers in a magazine. I'll find the magazine and post the numbers tomorrow (I have a stack of about 300 magazines).

Ya! The Formula Source RULES!

Anything else you can provide would be great!

I'd like to put something together on boxofwires.com

A few beers on a cold MidWest Friday night...discussing the 'final' numbers on our beloved birds can be depressing... (sniff)

BUT..2morrow is 'sposed to be 'relatively' nice..
Perhaps some ricer abuse will cheer me up..

I know my old Blue Green Chameleon was one of 124 Formulas in that color that year. The rarest 98 is a Navy Blue WS6 Formula. Only one made in that color, and a friend of mine up here owns it (Warbird is his username)

If I had been able to order an 02, it would've been a SSOM Formula or Maple Red Formula, two of the rarest colors. I wonder if there are any new 02 Formulas on any dealer's lot? (not that I can afford it, just curious)

Dood,
Thanks for the excellent info! It is nice to have a rare car for that model year. I didn't even know they still made the maple red. I never see that color on the streets.
Patman,
I don't think too many 02 Formula's will be found on dealer lots. I remember in July of 2001, I literally called 40 Pontiac dealerships in greater (much greater) chicagoland vicinty. There were only about 3 or 4 Formulas on the lot! A good portion of the salespeople did not know what a Formula was, and one woman even argued with me that Pontiac had not made a Formula for quite some time . Needless to say I just ended up ordering mine.
Regards,

Wow. Those are pretty low numbers when you think about it. You have to remember that the models that were made in a given color in large numbers were usually the most desired. That usually never changes. For example, a black T-top WS6 Trans Am is very popular because that's the way most people like T/As. Years from now it will be the black T/As that will be the most sought after IMHO because people liked them more.

The main force behind making a car more valuable is desirability. They made huge numbers of 1957 Chevys and that never stopped them from being overpriced on the collector market. Same with the 1967 Camaro SS, they made huge numbers of them (close to a million I think) and a #1 condition 396 can go for six figures these days. Also the 1977-78 black and gold Trans-Am which was made in huge numbers is now a very sought after collectors car, because it is a signature of its era.

Rarity does not guarantee collectibility, although sometimes it can add to value. Man, I love my Trans Am.

Default How many 2000 MRM TAs

I have searched far and wide for production numbers for 2000 Trans Ams produced with the Maple Red Metallic paint option. I even ordered a packet from Pontiac Historical Services, it provides no color breakdown. I know that they're weren't all that many produced, but I would like to know just how many were. Can anyone help me?
Thanks A Bunch,
Tony Green

This is my 2000 TA MMR. I have a tan leather interior. I have NEVER seen another TA with this same color, and I live in So. California. I have however seen a few Firebirds.

Here also is my mess around video:
