| G8 GT, new or used How willing are they to negotiate on price, I see used G8 GTs for about $25K, with under 10K miles, new the sticker is low 30s, so how much are they willing to work from there? Unfortunatley I have to have a 4 door car for work and this is what I'm considering getting some time in early Febuary. Wanted a new Camaro or used C6 'Vette, but part of the requirment is a 4 door car, so those two get rules out and I dont want some anemic boring lemming box. I have a vehicle allowance that will be paying for this car, so I cant complain all that much. Right now I'm thinking picking a few thousand mile 2009 G8 GT thats loaded and saving some money is a better value.

| The willingness to negotiate is typically up to the discretion of the dealer. However, given the current sales trends, I'd think dealers would be jumping through hoops of fire to get you to buy. Go to Edmunds and see what invoice price and destination is.

| Dude go used, I've seen clean low mile ones go for as low as 24-25 and all they are going to do is get cheaper. I doubt that you will get close to that from a dealer. LOL think about all the fools that paid over sticker.... I'm debating on a while one right now. Throw in a yank, full exhaust, heads, small cam and a 150 shot it will be a cool daily driver. Not the fastest thing on the street but fun.

| Should be able to get GMS if you shop outside of Houston. 1-way plane tickets are relatively cheap, figure anything within 1000 miles is a 1-day drive home.
Beck & Masten Pontiac up on the NW side of town deals the best, IMHO. Ask for salesmen Trent Railey, good guy. Tell him Lisa and I sent you, we've bought two cars from him.

| I have seen a few on e-bay, theres a red one for 26-27, new but it's red and I would prefer dark grey. The one David has at MTI is perfect, but need to finish saving up my down payment.

| I'd really like to see the GXP coupe version come out. Might swing me towards that from a used vette. Like the appearance of the coupe way better than the sedan right now.

| I bought mine new because I've never bought a brand new car before and I really wanted to at least once. That being said, it's almost always a better deal money wise to pick up a car that's about a year old.

| I would go used for sure. Let someone else take the hit from buying a new. From what I researched on the net the avg price for g8 gts used is from 20-23k. I am in the market just like you and I can not afford a new one, being that I live in hawaii and it cost 39k for a gt model new. The used ones go for msrp so this really blows. You should do what tony said look at dealerships and see if flying to them is cheaper. I will be doing this from hawaii which is gonna be a pain. Good luck to you and hope you find a good deal. |
