Nice car man. I just picked up my silver GXP 6-speed on Saturday and I'm loving ever second of it.
BTW, for those wondering, the GXP qualifies for a $1500 GM owner loyalty rebate plus a $1000 G8 rebate ($2500 total). I also got a coupon for an additional $2000 off from my GM Mastercard rewards points. They all combined for a total of $4500 off sticker.
Also, in-dash NAV is WAY overrated. My Garmin unit blows away anything you get from the factory (Lexus, Audi, GM, BMW, etc - played with them all). It's kind of like trying to compare a factory stereo to any nice aftermarket upgraded one. No comparison really.
So I take it that they really are still bringing in the GXP version (as was, at one point, feared to not be happening)?
Unlike the G8 ST and G8 Wagon, the GXP only has minor differences in styling, making it a much more feasible option compared to reworking the entire body on the other cars.

If you don't like to refer to your car as a FIREBIRD then you are in DENIAL.

you are seriously joking right ????????????
THERE IS NOTHING IN REDESIGNING , OR ANYTHING SPECIAL WITH THE BODIES FOR THE ST OR WAGON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE ST IS THE UTE/MALOO , ALL IT IS A MATTER OF SLAPPING THE G8 NOSE ON IT , AND THE WAGON IS ON SALE IN AU ALSO
I know about Vauxhall and the Arab Chevy's however its still different. They still have to meet US Federal crash safety standards even though the Vauxhall and Chevys abroad are the same they HAVE to have the Pontiac front on them to pass. That has said to be almost 150k PER vehicle tested. Not to mention how many mules have to made before they can be sure that the right hand model will be perfectly fine.
Whats funny is that Vauxhall is mostly just right hand drive Opels, NOT Holdens. Plus one of the only factories that builds Vauxhall's is IN Britain. They dont have to ship the cars anywhere unlike they have to do with the Pontiacs.
Again, the problem with the US is the logistics I think. GM has said in the past that it wanted to eventually move all G8 production to the US but I dont think itll ever happen. With the cancellation of both the ST and Wagon the G8 is a ticking time bomb waiting to be killed off.
Anyways, aside from arrogance in this thread from certain people, its awesome to finally see this car on the road. Only ONE of the Pontiac dealerships is getting them in my area and he sold the first one within a day of having it on the lot.

The price differential between the GXP and GT will be an ongoing debate. Ultimately, the price difference somewhat involves the luxuiry of having nicer brakes, improved suspension, LS3 engine, etc from the factory. I bought it because I find value in the aforementioned
I also totally agree. GXP is a much better value. Good luck with it. Very nice auto.

All I know about New Era is that they are one of the few shops that actually is making pieces for the G8. They do make quality stuff and you wont be disappointed if you are getting the car tuned!

I ordered a Casper eliminator last week for my new GXP and should have it early next week. Of course they weren't sure if the one for the CTS-V/GTO or the LS3 vette would work so I'm getting both and will just send back the wrong one.
