Default Stupid GM...

Why can't you extend the employee pricing to the 09 models?

There aren't very many 08's left around Houston, and I went and test drove an 09 that was just like I wanted it (Red, Sports Package, Premium Package) But they wouldn't come down off the sticker, so I walked out.

Guess dealers around here aren't hurting that bad.

I thought they did...at least when i went and looked at some they figured out pricing on them with the discount. one was an 08 and other 09.

Some dealers around here keep telling me they are going fast still. But next year, after winter for me, Im going to see where they stand

The employee pricing is for, from GM's website, "All 08 and select 09 models" ... The G8 is not one of the select 09's

That's kind of where I am, I'll wait until next year, I was trying to find an 08, but to no avail. I was just in a buying mood over the weekend, Oh well, I'll wait for tax return and bonus time next year.

I worked for GM for 4 years and the reasoning behind this is because there are tons of 08's left over and they need to move them before all the 09's hit. There's no point in creating tons of interest in 09 model year cars that they can't readily keep in stock. Plus, from a business standpoint, why whore out something that people are willing to pay near sticker for?

Well there aren't any 08's to be had in Houston, and the closest is 250 miles away in dallas, there's 2.

Also, they extended it to cover the 09's now, but I'm too busy with work and these stupid hurricanes that keep rolling in to go see what's available.

I think you're answering your own question. You don't have much choice other than an '09. That's not a problem with GM - that's called economics.

I agree. Why should GM discount fast moving cars? I can see them discounting the first few G8's to get them out in the public eye but if they are moving well, sell them for as much as you can get. GM needs to make money to survive and selling a car at a loss will nto get them out of their current financial mess.
