Damn, $850 for the headers PLUS $850 for the X-pipe PLUS $800 for the catback?? $2,500 for a full exhaust???!!!! Ouch.

Kooks makes some shorties and long tubes. JBA makes some long tubes, and ARH makes some long tubes. With the long tubes from Kooks and JBA if you get the x pipe it reaches all the way to the axle back system. Dynoed the axle back is only holding about 2-5 WHP so you don't need the catback system as well. So your looking at about $750-770 for the long tubes from Kooks and JBA and another $750-800 for the x pipe for both systems for a total of $1500-1570 or so. The ARH headers are more expensive (by about $500) but include the long tubes and x pipe in one kit.

Long tubes on a totally stock G8 GT are showing 30 40 WHP before tuning. So I think there worth it. People are running steady 12s on Longtubes, CIA, and Tune still running in the heat.

As far as headers go, I wouldn't mess around with shorty headers, not much of a gain to be had with them. Bob

Thanks! Fawaz ordered just the long tube headers, and they are going to fab up the pipes behind them which keeps the cost down. Bob

Dude, American Racing Headers to the right in the sponsor list.

Also, I have the ARH 1-3/4 w/cats long tube headers for the G8. The headers alone were worth ~35 rwhp with no other mods and after a tune and CAI I gained a total of ~60 rwhp. They are a very easy install and are top quality.
