I hate how everyone says the GTO's are plain and ugly looking. I disagree. I think the 05-06 GTO's look really good. The 04's are kind of plain looking, but that is easy to fix.

And did you see the "4th Gen" in the title of this thread dumb ass? Quit being so cocky. If my car trapped 140mph I wouldn't go around rubbing it in peoples faces thinking that I was Billy bad ass.
Evidently my comment got to you lol.... Never said 115 was warp speed douche, but when your going to comment on something I said with a insult directed towards me in a manner that is cocky. best fuckin beileve your going to get the same shit back. Check yourself kid!!!

You crack me up. The internet bad ass type for sure.

You were acting like your GTO was untouchable. I was just trying to put you in check. Then you come back with "I trap 115mph, no 4th gen can keep up" or whatever. I would be highly dissapointed if I trapped 115mph, and I don't consider my car fast by any means.

But I take all that back. I had no idea I was dealing with Chuck Norris, and I surely don't want any trouble from you sir.

If you can swing the cost, the 05-06 GTO is what I would get for sure.

You can save a TON of money going with an 04. The sole purpose of mine was to be a daily driver, so i picked up my 04 for about 4k less than any comparable 05-06 i was finding.

Having owned both, I would buy another F-body if I were gonna hack up a car and build a straight line only car....If I wanted a quick, nice daily, I'd get a GTO.....I sold my TA and I now DD a GTO

it seems like a 04 with i/Lt's/tune/exhaust is a stout car that should go mid 12's or am i getting my facts crossed?

That sounds about right.

I haven't ran mine at the track yet... but with just long tubes and catless mids it feels pretty good.

Obviously an LS2 is going to make a bit more power than an LS1... but for what i planned to use it for it wasn't worth it.

I bought mine new but if I was looking for another, I would go for a '04. Cheaper and the parts are the same. Once you do cam and heads, the difference is not that much. A few cubes isn't that big a deal to me. I like the subtle look of the '04 anyway.

All the ls1 GTO times I have seen (not internet times, real life times) are in the high 132 stock.. The ls2s get down in the mid 13s..

ls1 GTO gets beat by an fbody every race stock for stock, you cant argue that.. Same power but one weighs 2-300 lbs more..

I started spending more time over here again (vs the "other" site) because I thought there would be less douchey-ness.

It would seem I was mistaken.
