Default LS2 heads on ls1...power gains?

I got a chance to buy a set of 6.0 heads for my ls1. What kind of power gains would i get with these heads if any at all?

I agree with Codygto... Probably around 15-18hp untouched..... How much are you picking them up for???? For the money they usually go for your better off getting say patriots stage 3's.... For 1200 bucks... Those you would gain about 35whp with. Better bang for buck in my oppinion.

BTW The LS2 heads are 243 castings which are the same as the LS6 heads just without the hollow valves.

I have heard they are good for a solid 15rwhp or so as is and they have plenty of potential when ported.

For the right price ($400-500 max) I think they are an excellent upgrade.

You get about 20 out of them.If you port the runners and polish them up you can get a lil more. How much are you getting them for?

Anything over 500 bucks and i would just save a little more and get the stage 2.5 5.3L heads from TSP.

A guy posted on LS1GTO a while back that he got 20 HP by just swapping on the 243 heads.

It was on a dyno, if I thought about it, I might be able to come up with his name.

I wouldn't get the Stage 3's as they are only for 4.00 bores or larger. The stage 2's are a perfect fit for your LS1. I love mine!

Those are my thoughts too.

Most sell there 243's for $450-500.

Thats what mine will be up for sale for it a bit...

You also have to ask what mods you already have. If you bolt them on a bone stock 04 you may gain 15 hp, but if you bolt them on a 04 with cam and headers you might gain 25. It is all relative.
