| Resurrect The Bird If only we could be so exicted as the Chevy guys. Don't get me wrong i'm happy for thim but it sucks for us. I have loved Trans Ams all of my life and I would love for them to bring it back out. Please GM resurrect the bird (isn't that what the phoenix emblem symbolizes?). I still hold hope that they will but with plans on a new GTO or Grand Prix my hopes are fading. |

| Well to tell the truth I hope they don't bring it back. Why? Cause as it sets I have "The last of the breed", the newest one that you can possibly get, and I like it that way.
I think the 98-02 WS6 is the best looking of them all, as well as one of the best looking cars ever. Now they might do a decent job with a 5th gen, but more than likely it would be nothing more than a Pontiac version of the Camaro, and I just don't dig the retro styling personally. If they took the 98-02 platform, and went off that, then it could have a chance to be pretty badass.
In the end though, I'm perfectly fine with them leaving well-enough alone.

| I definitely agree with all of your points especially the one about the new design and the 4th gen looking the best. |

| The new Camaro looks alright but I will take an 02 SS over it anyday. I saved up 20,000 at the time of the new Camaro announcement but the style doesn't have anything on the T/A so I bought one instead. Besides my grandmother has an 84 bird and I had a 96 ws6 until it was washed away by Katrina, but I love my 02 ws6 just wished it had the last of the breed package. |

| We will never see another Trans Am, and I am fine with that. Like most others stated, I am happy to own the very last year and know that another new Trans Am will never be made.
It is possible that the Firebird name could be resurrected, but with Pontiac's new market direction, I don't see that happening either.

I said that cause I DON'T like the retro styling, and if they did the same thing as before, and made them basically the same car, I wouldn't like it. I would rather have the 4th Gen be the last bird ever instead of having a new retro bird tarnish what was suppose to be "The Last Of The Breed"

| Wow I really hate your opinions that because you have the last of the breed GM shouldn't make another bird. You all want your cars to fund your retirement and childrens college. Yes the last bird was the best looking to date, but before that the banshee third gen was and the 72 455 H.O. was (IMO). The fact is the 5th gen may look better than the 4th gen. I am so sick of people saying how the T/A shouldn't come back because they have the last of the last. Bullshit, it is very selfish. If you love the 4th gen then don't buy a 5th gen. I want to see another Trans Am or Firebird because I love these cars, every generation. I wanna by a new T/A to carry on an american icon. I also want another 4th gen and another 3rd gen too when I am able to afford it. But most of all I wanna see my children be able to share in the hobby with a Trans Am they love. My dad had an 81 T/A and a 73 stingray. The T/A had a bigger impact on me becuase of looks and that made me a Firebird guy. If they stopped production on the firebird in the 80's like it was rumored I may be a mustang enthusiest, or worse an import driver like many in my generation. The fact is not wanting GM to bring back the bird is down right non-american. Bo Darville would be ashamed of you and you should be ashamed of yourselves. I got a little crazy there, rant over. Let the backlash begin. |

| ^^^^you pretty much read my mind.... i was praying that they didnt discontinue the mustang a couple years ago... because that would of really killed the american muscle car. I mean look it took the retro style mustang to make gm want to bring back the camaro (atleast thats what i think) and we should all be thankful that ford did scrap that thing we all love to hate so not wanting a new bird come out is just plain un american. |

I see your point in the rest of your reply....but I stick to my guns. Call me selfish if you will.....I don't mind
Doesn't really matter anyhow, cause the 02 is staying....

| So because of that dumb badge you want the TA to stay dead? Doesnt make much sense. I just think thats a reason to make you feel better that they are gone. |

| I wouldn't say it's a dumb badge, but I agree that people might seem they wasted some money on items like that if it's brought back. It still would be the last of a breed because the new TA like the Camaro, is all different. I mean the shocks and drive shaft are compatible (at least the driveshaft) from 82 to 02!

| One reason I bought my car was because it was the LAST one. In time these cars will be worth more than we paid for them. If GM brings back a Firebird then our cars will never be worth what they could be. Does this also mean that someone will try to sue GM because of this? Good luck! Leave the Bird alone, it went out in great style!

I think they should definitely make another Firebird along with the Camaro. The concepts I've seen look great, and I think it would be an awesome car. It would have te LS2, 6 speed trans, IRS, Firebird specific interior (red lighting, chrome accents, ect) and unique styling.
I'll be in line to buy one if they decide to build it. |
