Yea I have to agree those taillights are U.G.L.Y.

If we end up having a family soon, that'll be the family car.

As of now were looking at 6.0l, 362hp, 390tq, RWD, 6 speed (auto or manual). But there is talk of maybe an LS2 in it instead and that would be 400hp/400tq

So what engine does this car have? Its rated at 362hp which seems kinda low for a 6L. Maybe that just means there will be alot of gains from intake, exhaust, and cam.

It's 400/400 fly wheel and that I believe are the road numbers.

I asked in another thread and didnt see a reply. I thought the LS2 is cut off in 08, so what will the G8 get for a motor? (As in the primary? RWD LS4 or LS1 brought back)

I got GXP gets the LS7 LOL

Maybe the 3 Valve LS"3"?

The Road and Track article says 362hp which corresponds to the L98 6.0L engine that is in the Commodore. I have been digging for info on it, but can't find much other than aluminum block 10.4 CR. I am assuming that it uses the L92 style cylinder head. If that is the case it should have the potential for WAAAAAY over 362hp.

Wow...I love it. I had pretty much already made my mind on wanting a G8. Now gimme some sweet colors, a nice 6 speed manual and an agressive exhaust note. Any word on the cost? (I'm sure it's going to be expensive). Also, 361 seems a little odd....Isn't it using the LS2? Maybe those are whp numbers...

That's pretty sharp. A little plainer than I like, but it's still sharp.

Should've got the nice spoiler. That tan interior is yuck.

Why is it an L98 when thats a TPI motor? :\

Here's some Hi-Res lovin'

"The G8 GT Pontiac showed in Chicago is not, in fact, exactly what the G8 GT is going to look like when it hits showrooms early in 2008. This car is dolled up with a few SEMA-style tweaks that will not make it into production. For example, if you like the 20-inch wheels, tough nuggets. They won’t make the cut. Ditto for the ride height (production will be about a half-inch higher), the paint color, the hi-po brakes and painted calipers, and most tragically of all, the lovely two-tone leather interior. An available sport package will include alloy pedals and a leather-trimmed steering wheel and shifter, but the leather-wrapped dash is a show-car one-off. So sorry."
*sigh* Why Pontiac, why? Should've just rebadged the Commodore

Wow. Thanks for the good pics!

I agree that the G8 most likely won't have an iron block Tuned Port Injected 350. L98 is, however the engine code for the 6.0L 362hp engine in he VE Commodore. Unfortunately that is about all that I know about it .
