| There is no such thing.
Once upon a time there were designs in progress, but such work stopped long ago.

| I agree with OctaneZ28 on this one... We would have seen something about it by now. Unless Pontiac is as good keeping secrets as, say, Fort Knox, seems like The only real fun cars we'll be getting from GM are the Camaro and the Vette for a while. Maybe for now Pontiac has decided to leave the Muscle Car race to its Bow-Tied Bretheren? A unified GM front on muscle to save Pontiacs resources until they're READY to get in the Muscle-race again. Maybe they're waiting to guage the success if the Camaro before they release anything. If its a smash hit, they'll join the fun, too.

| I've posted this picture about 6 times now, but here's some info to go with it: Quote: 2008 Pontiac GTO - Modernized
In an era where we are seeing the cars of yesteryear being brought back in retro fashion, it's refreshing to see a modernized version of the GTO coming... even if we have to wait until 2008. 2008 Pontiac GTO
Internally called the GMX282, the 2008 GTO will be built on GM's new Zeta platform, now under development in Australia by GM's Holden subsidiary. The Zeta platform brings a new suspension all around, with a more sophisticated independent rearend promising better traction and even sweeter handling. The wheelbase has grown marginally to 110 inches. The next GTO will carry over the 6.0-liter, 400-horse LS2 engine from the current car as well as the six-speed manual transmission. The new GTO looks more muscular than today's model, with a fastback roofline and strong tension in the profile and pumped fenders. Overall length is down 0.8 inch to 189. The only retro nods on this car are the wide-track Pontiac-style front end and the twin hood scoops.
| Quote: GTO Regeneration: Next-gen Pontiac muscle car reportedly will hit market in '08
What you see in this illustration is a fairly close rendition of what we can expect when the next-generation Pontiac GTO hits the market in 2008. We say “fairly close” because we’ve seen the super-secret spy photos upon which it is based, and the actual shots show a sleeker, wider, lower and, frankly, far more appealing car.
That’s the good news.
The bad news is General Motors’ Aussie division Holden reportedly may not start cranking out these future Goats until 2008, a full two years after production ceases on the 2006 Holden Monaro-based GTO.
One more tidbit: It’s not shown here, but we hear GM is considering doing this GTO as a four-door coupe, using rear-hinged rear-access doors without visible handles.
|
Is that a real concept? Is it just another good Photoshop? *shrug* I don't know, I'm just passing along info I've come across.

| ^^^ Those are all photoshops.
The GMX282 program was cancelled long ago.

| With the G8 coming out, why would they import a GTO as well. To me it looks like the GTO is not coming back. |

| I've been saying it, but you guys haven't been buying it ... the utter absence of any pre-publicity about a new GTO indicates the program is dead. The L76 G8 is the Pontiac performance leader for the foreseeable future.

| GM wouldn't leave Pontiac with that big of a void in its lineup. They are building the brand up in the performance category. I believe the GTO will come, but they are being hush, hush this time. I do hope its 09 and not 10 though- 09 would make a nice 40th anniversary return for the Judge. I also hope they make a convertible version as well. Retro all the way!!!

| Yea they need to have a RWD, 2dr, V8. They won't stick with the solstice being the only 2dr RWD car. Man, can you imagine how awesome the G8 would be in a coupe?! :O
Someone photoshop it to be a 2dr lol
