| Why so upset? Why is everybody so upset that they are no longer making the Trans am/firebird? As far as I am concerned they started out on a good note and ended on one. Gm would just mess it. Plus think of it this way are cars are already classics.

| Look at the new camaro. I'm not a big fan of it. They might but, I don't think it is likey. They stop making them because they were not selling enough of them, including the GTO. I think GM is just looking for a big hit it is easyer to do it with one car instead of two.

Look outside... look at all of the newer Mustangs out there. Everybody and their grandma and grandpa have one it seems like. I like knowing not many people have my car.

A new GTO was talked about but most likely scrapped because of the new CAFE standards. just thought I would put that out there. |

The Challenger is nicer. I just got done reading about it in hot rod mag. Id take that over a camaro and a G8 over the challenger. |

| i guess i don't understand but why are some Firebird/TA owners happy about no new Firebird simply because they have the last generation and don't want to see the car mass produced again because many others would have them? i mean wouldn't it be nice to walk into a pontiac dealer and just say "i want a black trans am, black leather, and t-tops with the LS3 option." and why would your 4th gen not be special anymore??

| Look at it this way... the new Camaro isn't even an F-Body. Our cars will forever and always be F-Bodies and if never made again, don't have a chance of being ruined or having the name tarnished.
I personally liked the 05/06 GTO's (not so much the 04s).. but the car is looked at by most as GM dropping the ball and ruining its legacy (even tho it basically follows exactly what a muscle car was back in the 60's). Im much more content with our cars going on a good note than than ppl saying "remember when they tried to bring the Firebird back and ruined it?".

| Turn the tables and see how it stacks up. What if GM had decided to bring back the Firebird/Trans Am, but no new Camaro? Would we wondering why the Chevy guys were screaming about it?

I get what you mean, but the rivalry has always mainly been the Mustang vs Camaro.. which is odd, but lol.

The platform it was built on had already been dropped for Australian Holdens at the time the new GTO was launched here in the states. Therefore, they just milked a little more money out of the dated platform by selling it to us for three more years.
But our Canadian friends on here didn't even get the car at all. It wasn't allowed by the Canadian government to be sold there.
