| G8 ST when? Been a few weeks since I've heard anything about the G8 ST. Any word on when it will be in the show rooms? |

| Well, it's already built in Australia, so importing it, rebadging it, and selling it shouldn't put the release date any where past end of 2009.

I guess it's kind of my guilty pleasure that I'm an El Camino fan, and when I first saw the Ute's, I FLIPPED OUT!! I thought they were so freakin' awesome, now that I've seen some concept/production pics of the "to be named later" G8 ST, I love 'em even more than the Utes!!!

| I'd drive one. I'd rack my kayaks back there on an angle, have room for the camping gear and still be making 400 horse (assuming we get a G8 ST GXP).
Actually the ST and GXP coupe are the only G8s I'd consider.
Given the way muscle car sales are falling though GM might not be in a hurry to spend money to rebadge V8s and ship them half way around the world just to still on dealer lots. |

| I'm in the market for a new car now so I'm trying to find one withthe best resale so that when this ute comes out I get one new. Even though it's not the best deal to buy brand new I think these "crucks" are cool!

| With gas prices the way they are this will appeal to alot more people now then you might think. The bed of the g8st will be enough for the weekend warrior to haul lumber from lowes/Home Depot, put their motor cylce in the back, camping gear etc. It will get quite a bit better milage then a typical f-150 or Silverado.

| I personally don't think they are THAT bad looking since they fixed the box riding high on the cab (just how they designed it).
Here's an old PShop I did to lower the box. If you look hard enough, you can see where I moved it from (straight across from the black part of the side mirror).

| If I buy it with the V8 it won't get any better gas mileage, I'll make sure of it. However if it offered displacement on demand or at least tuned to 87 octane, I could be down.

| They've been out in Oz for many years now. I'd guess 10 a the minimum. I'm quite sure you can find weight and dimension specs.

Weight doesn't explain it, since this 3,981-pound ute actually pips the sedan's weight by 2 pounds.
| Also says it runs the qtr in 13.8 and 0-60 in 5seconds. http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=123602

| While it's possible that it gets those times in the 1/4, that weight seems about 500lbs too heavy for a pickup (for lack of a better description). It has no back seats, no big back glass, no trunk lid, roof...

| If you think about it, they must have added some kind of strength to the car=adding weight
