Default Lost my job today..... Have you

So I lost my job today... Has anyone else? This economy sucks, and where I'm at nothing is going well. To those that have lost their jobs what are you doing?

I've been jobless since June 13th. I got my car up and running and now broke it and working on it again, every now and then I get some work done on my truck. Look for jobs, got a UPS meeting tomorrow, I might get a holiday job out of that. Been waiting to hear if I get to go to the LE academy, won't hear about that til next month though.

A lot of waiting, not very happy.

I've had 5 close friends lose very high paying jobs in the past 3-4 months. One of my good friends just got a huge promotion at work about 6 months ago, promoted to something in the $110K/yr range. After 6 months of saving money, he put a HUGE down payment on a HUGE house for his wife and 3 daughters. Literally 3 days after the papers were signed for a $2500 house payment, he was pulled into the office and laid off because the company lost their 3 big accounts he was working on.

Pop's and lil bro have been between movies since august, they are supposed to start another late december/early jan. My pop's is driving my mom nuts being home all the time, and my bro just coaches HS football and parties.

Healthcare has very good job security. No matter how bad the economy gets I'll still have my job.

I supposedly only have until the end of next January, but then again I was supposed to be laid off last November. So who knows what will happen. But that is what the company gets for sending their IT support to Costa Rica. I don't know if the transition will ever end.

I went from working 80+ hours a week 6 months ago to 40 with no overtime at all now, and have 2 weeks left before I'm laid off as well. hopefully I can get by on unemployment till I get called back or find something else.

I'm retiring from the Army so the job market is definately a big concern for me. I wish everyone the best. I am looking for those that are hiring.

mom got laid off from an automotive plastics plant about 2 months ago. She still hasn't found work in the type of position she had(upper level managment). Her company(Plastec) went bankrupt, seems like it will be the first in a big wave of Detriot based bankruptcys. Luckily their house is paid for and dad makes double what her salary was.

My apologies.

I have been lucky enough to keep my job but I have had to drive south and work down here for a little bit. Hopefully when I get back I will have some work waiting. Then again Union work is either feast or famine, not a whole lot different from any other year.

Lol. A HUGE house for $2,500 bucks a month. I'm livin in the wrong state. I think I'm pretty secure though with Microsoft, but a few months ago I was unsure if I was going to keep my job or not and it was pretty unnerving.
