Can't beat the 572 GM crate motor...Summit Racing Baby!!!
I like my cars to be drivable. Drivable=no surge from huge cams, not so damn loud you get a head ache from driving, something you can hear the radio over the gear whine, fuel pump, exhaust, etc., something that doesnt get 10mpg or less driving normal. 426 would still be drivable for a street car imo.

That 426 dropped in a Lincoln towncar sounds like something you might want..
I was kidding Sarge...Lincoln Towncar's are way to heavy to make fast, and they are well known for their driving comfort and not their speed and handling..

Well, let's consider this... I guess if drop a Twin Turbo'd LS7 in a big old heavy Lincoln Towncar it could made to run fast.. You could actually fall asleep while racing in it
Got a call from a local dealership about a Jeep they got in. Going to look at it Monday. Maybe very soon Ill be the new owner of a Jeep.

What are those JC SRT8's going for used? I know the prices have really dropped on used TBSS's into the 16k-25k range depending on year and AWD or RWD. I'd like to pick up a TBSS for the wife eventually.

Way too heavy, huh? The 1990's models weigh ~4050lbs, the newer ones are about 4200lbs. A GCSRT-8 is 4800lbs. Most people are ignorant that the old body on frame Fleetwoods, Town Cars, Caprices, etc are several hundred pounds lighter than a midsize suv.
Remember that those Town Cars came with that miserable 4.6 SOCH V8. Weighs a lot more than an aluminum LSx V8, and made a torpid 190-230hp depending on the year.

Jeep is the way to go. Hands down, the TBSS is an outdated shitbox in comparison. Brakes, Suspension, interior, exterior. I love the LSX as much as anyone. But the SRT8 is no slouch. As above, its the better choice performance wise too. It's a high 12 car with intake only.
+1 srt8 all the way. tbss=shitbox and so is that ugly ass abomination of a truck that dealer modified TuRD tundra.
Damn no Jeep for me. Went to the dealer and spent fucking 2-3 hours there with them, didnt notice when I left. Boy they wouldnt budge at all. It was a 2006 for $32,000, Ive seen 2006s for $23,000 and you can buy leftover 2008s for about $35,000. This dealer will either find a sucker or have it for a long time. Anyway my search continues.
