Default Home Defense Gun Pics

Was cleaning my shotgun thought I would snap a pic of it. Just a basic Mossberg 500 with a 18.5 inch barrel and a red dot. Pretty basic but it will get the job done for sure. Might put a longer barrel on it and take it hunting. Not sure just yet. If anyone else has some pics of their home defense weapon or any weapon for that matter I would love to see.

Nice, better for home defense than my Winchester, tough to sneak around corners with a 30" barrell.

haha!

I dont think its legal to have hom defense gun's in canada. You need to have a firearms licence and a bunch of other fancy shit.

Cant say ive ever felt the need to have a gun to defend our home before.

Thats why you need trip sensors with indicator lights in your room.

Works better then the stupid motion sensor sweep from ADT.

Yeah I did this when I was younger.

Stick to the floor and slide your way through the house, hiding behind couches tables or chairs.

Thats why I'm glad I've got 2 dogs that are extremely light sleepers, LOL.

One of my home defense weapons--40 S&W FN Herstal FNP40, with hornady TAP's in it. 14+1

Will have to snap some pics of my other one, its an H&K/Fabarms FP6 12 ga. pump shotty, 18" barrel, loaded with Federal 00Buck LEO rounds.

Update: here's finally pics of my preferred home defense.

To the OP, what type of red dot is that on your shotty? I just found a top mount picatinny for mine and have been wanting to add a red dot like that, but haven't done much research on them yet.

You better saw that bad boy off if you're considering that for home protection. Hard to reach and swing that beast around when you got a robber coming at you in your own bedroom.. Actually you can't saw that model off because it is a pump. Forget that idea..

Picture this - An intruder wakes you from a dead sleep, you are startled and half asleep but up and looking around, the wife, girl friend and or gay lover starts screeming in a frenzy, the robber comes into view and charges, you reach for the long and heavy shot gun under your bed and swing it around and accidently knock out your paniced lover that was screaming. The robber then charges, grabs and yanks the barrel of your shotgun, you then can guess what would happen next..

Get something light weight and compact.. Just a little food for thought anyway?

The gun really isn't as long as it looks. It has the shortest legal barrel you can buy and moves around the house pretty easily. I am also the lightest sleeper on the face of the earth, on top of that I have a dead-bolt on my bedroom door. I want a pistol, but I'm only 20 so I am not old enough yet. Even if i had one I would still trust a 12 gauge to put down an intruder more than a pistol.

Smart man. One thing you could look into is a different stock - not necessarily a pistol grip, but you could get one that is more compact or even folding.

I forgot my combination and did that to my room for a month, always snuck past it.

I'm not old enough to own a gun, in my state. I'm going to try and make a gun next month, though.

In MD, you have to be 21 to legally own a firearm.
