what are the most see's??????? i know i should probably see the empire state building and statue of liberty but what are the other places that are most see's? and my girlfriend is obviously going to take me to canal street (she has been to the city once, but doesn't really know much about it and where we should go besides there)
i posted this on ssu to, didnt know where i would get more replies
midtown- central park, columbus circle, times square
downtown- brooklyn bridge, south street seaport, ground zero, ellis island
- you could always see a broadway show or visit a cool museum, but if your only gunna be there for 1 day, id skip out on it unless your dead set on a certain show.
- theres a lot of good restaurants, but dont forget to buy some good stuff of street vendors (pretzels, hot dogs, gyros, etc).
- canal street is the shit; always negotiate the prices though. pick up all your x-mas gifts there too if you got time/spce
im just naming stuff off the top of my head. ill add more once i remember some more. you should try posting this in the eastern section

I don't think you'll have enough time to see the statue of liberty and ellis Island. When I went to Manhattan there was like a two hour long line to get on the ferry at like 9:00am on Sat morning. Definetly check out Battery park though, its beautiful.

agreed. wasting 2+ hours on line to go to liberty island, ellis island, or go up into the empire state building is a waste of time if your only stay for the day. battery park will give you better views of the statue anyway.
Also don't waste your time looking for little Italy in Manhattan. Its been consumed by Chinatown. I heard that little Italy in Brooklyn is the shit though.

The first time I went, China town ended up consuming my ass. I swear I spent a couple hours trying to get the hell out of there. If can get to and from Lil' Italy without getting lost, do it. The pizza there is perfect. Central Park is a must, as is Time Square. You'll probably find yourself occupied just by walking around and checking things out. See if you can pick up a map at one of the subway terminals.
I just went this past weekend and swung by the Coney Island Aquarium. They had this seal put on a show there that was awesome. Hilarious creature.
in my view, the 93-97 is the 4.0 gen and the 98-02 is the 4.5 gen when an LTx camaro had sex with a sebring, and an LTx trans am had sex with the batmobile.

i refuse to see the yankee stadium im a phillies fan!!
haha sounds like something my gf would say. She's a huge phillies fan.
On topic- if you want to do some shopping check out times square, and canal street (times square is more gimmicky and expensive) but if your just sight seeing, definitely visit central park. I loved central park, i a pretty good little walk. You might even get lucky enough to see two lesbians going at it in the bushes thinking no one can see them (yes... I saw it, but no it wasn't nearly as cool as you might think... damn older lesbos)

It's American History!! Gotta see the old Yankee Stadium before they tear it down. Plus, I PAID to see the Phillies beat the Yankees in extras earlier this year, was NOT happy about that!!!
I brought my buddy from PA to the city on Friday, we got a REALLY late start because he's an ass (we didn't get there til 9pm) but I showed him the most ghetto White Castle you can go to at East 103rd and 1st Ave while crossing through Central Park to get there. Then we went downtown on 2nd Ave I believe, nearly witnessed a bicyclist hit a car door that swung open in front of him, drove through Times Square, around Penn Station and the Empire State Building. Parked in the expensive Madison Square Garden parking garage, saw a Gallardo LP-560 and Murcielago downstairs, walked a few blocks to the Empire State Building and went to the 86th and 102nd floor observatories. From the time we went inside and got upstairs it started to rain, which was cool as shit 1,050 feet in the air, kind of scary now that I think back on it. At night there was NO line and it's just cool as shit if you've never been on top of it, I say $20 well spent, night time NYC is sick. From there we went back down and I took him on his first subway ride to Times Square where we walked around real quick and then went to Dave n Busters for a little while then before I knew it, it was 2 am and they were closing.
On the way out of the city we took the FDR and I showed him Ground Zero, the Brooklyn Bridge, the United Nations building, hopped over the Willis Ave bridge and went up 87 past the Yankee Stadiums and the west side of the Bronx and the rest of the toll-free way out of the city. (87-95-Hutch)
I wish the sum bitch wasn't screwing around in Mass or else I would've showed him more. Hell, I've been to the city countless times and I still don't know SHIT about it!!

You can do something and kill a few birds with one stone - go on a gray line bus tour, which hits all the major attractions on the island and doesn't take all day. You will still ahve time leftover to go to the park and midtown.
Canal street is a nightmare of cheap shit and pickpockets...
