^^^ Thats why I said to get his company involved and see what they offer. On a total loss they only owe actual cash value. If the OP is wanting 5K more than actual cash value on the bike it won't happen.

They are only going to be required to pay you market value for the bike, mods on the bike wont matter as they dont influence the price much at all if any. They will also have to pay you for any gear that was damaged, for storage and rental car while they investigate the claim

that is the quick and easy part.

The pain and suffering ie personal injury side of the claim can and will take some time. I would get a attorney asap as in dont spend anymore time on web forums but instead beat the yellowbook for the best accident injury attorney in your area, get with them and let them handle the claim from then on out.

Sadly this is what the insurance co is forcing you to do as they want to bully you to settle for a lessor claim.

It took me almost 1.5 years to settle my claim with a red light runner that totaled my 2006 gto. The injury side was quick as i was not really injured but the property side took forever.
