Good luck in court man. These people saying "youve admitted to racing in the past and now its caught up to you" or anything along those lines are bored. Im sure theyve never sped or half-assed stopped at a stop sign. They are the angels, so let them fly.
And not saying street racing is good or bad, but why does everyone say "innocent lives at risk" and stuff like that? If you race in traffic, then yes, youre retarded. But, if you race on a road that has absolutely no traffic, or is blocked off, then no innocent lives are at risk, except for maybe Bambi.

Again, good luck in court, and I hope the other guy would grow a pair and tell the judge what really went on.

I would be extremely pissed if they towed my car and impounded it due to that....you have way too nice of a car for the impound yard to fuck up....good luck with it, it is nice around the Chicagoland area it seems like the ricer fad has died down so not many come around to try and race the camaro.

It's ridiculous that you should even have to fork out the cash for a lawyer or the impound if you're innocent. Who has an extra $500 bucks laying around right now for a crime they didn't commit?

Sorry to hear that man. Some of these self proclaimed "do-gooders" need to be slapped. Situations like this make me want to be a cop to not screw people over.

Got car back. $100 and no yard fees. They let me choose the towing company and i knew the owner of this company so i wasnt worried. Saved some $ too

While I dont agree with his title and attitude I agree 100% with his story. The cop assumed he was racing without any proof. Ive been in this situation before. We have a street here in okc alot of people cruise on, me and a buddy his in mustang were sitting (cars off keys in our pockets) in a parking lot eating and watching the parade of life pass by. We both got citations for participating in an illegal speed contest because someone had called and said a camaro was racing a mustang (mind you there was at least 30 other camaros and mustangs out that night). Fortunately mine was thrown out in court. Hopefully the same goes for the OP.

However, on the traffic side, I have 0 faith in the legal system and 0 respect for traffic cops. Traffic cops are nothing more than revenue gatherers with a gun. I have tons of respect for real law enforcement officers and that far to few group of traffic cops with a brain and Im going to school to go into federal law enforcement myself.

On a side note.....Yes ive street raced. I street raced every friday and saturday evening for 5 years without incident, it took me $4000 in fines, 17 hours in county, my car being impounded, and losing my liscence for 90 days to quit.

Good Post man.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone by my previous posts. I just find your thread title very disrespectfull. Again sorry if I offended you. I agree that everyone has sped, ran a stop sign, etc. But everyone who gets a ticket doesn't post a thread on it. This site is just notorious for cry babies who don't want to man up and take there punishment: instead they blame the cop for doing his job. If your story is true then I truely hope you get out of the charges. Good luck.

Just a thought but are you in an area where the stop lights are monitered by camera's? If so maybe you can get the tape somehow. Just a thought.

Wow they take street racing pretty serious some places. Here its a $250 fine and 6 points on your record. I received a street racing ticket about a year ago, got a lawyer and got it knocked down to a $150 ticket and 2 points plus $150 for the lawyer(hour worth of work).

OP: good luck in court, as a few people said before you cant listen to some of these morons on this thread, like they have never done anything wrong. just because he said that he may have driven the car hard a few times before that doesnt make him guilty for being accused of street racing when he wasnt.

I was driving over the speed limit, do you want me to go turn myself in!!!! give me a break

heh ...got passed by a prius on the interstate yesterday( I was doing a tad under 70 in a 65 zone) in front of a full-on ka band spraying state trooper ...the prius was probably pushing close to 80 but nada happened( yes I know he saw that because I was staring straight at him whilst the prius was rolling past my left door ..) if it had been me rolling closer to 80 ...I'd had been popped most likely but then again a fhp officer from a Speeders episode was letting 80 pass by but 85+ was the $$ spot somewhere down on I-75. Drive safe.
