I...LOVE...to get in those guys faces.

It's not about owning a great car with those guys. It's ALL about being able to afford something they think you can't. It's about the Eurotrash image (being so rich that you spend 50 grand like others spend buying bottled water.) And the snobbery that goes with it.

You just bought a Trans Am, well, you can only drool over how much I spent on my M3 (It's a bimmer by the way.)

I guess some people really need that 55,000 ego crutch to lean on.

You want to have some real fun, start arguing very logically about the cost of the M3 and the cost of the F-body or GTO vs. performance and interior build, etc; start mentioning the upgradeability of the F-body and Gto platforms versus the M3. It's fun...

Then start comparing reliability between the cars. That's also fun.

Around here, I have only run into one cool M3 owner, we raced up and down the highway out towards Lancaster and gave each other big grins and thumbs up when we parted. Every other M3 owner I've encountered uses the "ambush race."

If we are bench racing then lets just say that the Cadillac CTS-V has spanked every European Car in its class in the Le Mans series. Oh yeah, that includes the M3. Overall a CTS V is a much much better car according all the magazine articles published.

I'm glad the M3 owners hated f-bodies the most. Looking at that list of cars, it seems like it is also one of the few cars that could whip their asses on any given freeway or stoplight. They have reason to hate our cars, because we love to humiliate them in public

I like M3s, but for the price my C6 is a MUCH better car. I also don't think I could live with the yuppy metro-sexual image if I tooted around in a 'beemer'.

Funny though, I have several friends from Europe, and they think BMWs are like Hondas in their homeland. They are amazed that the cars are so expensive here. Hell, most of the taxi cabs are BMWs over there. BMW=European Accord.

The problem is that the cost/performance argument can be used against us when confronted with economy car tuners. Someone can build a Civic to run 10s for less money than it would cost to get an LS1 f-body in the 10s. Then they sit there with the, "you just need the $30K ego crutch and the Ram Air nostrils to feel good about yourself."

The M3 is a better car, guys... anyone who says otherwise is in straight up denial.

We all have our own opinions, but the same reason they couldn't be bothered to look twice at a Camaro or Trans Am is the same reason we couldn't be bothered to look at a really fast Civic.

Let them hate all they want, the only time I'm going to have a problem is when they start to rag on the actual performance, or the engine mechanics... then I'll happily throw down.

It is an ego crutch if you think you're better than the Honda guy because your car cost more.

I like how they rag on us because our cars rattle and have shitty interiors. Do they realize that when 90% of us bought F-bodies we weren't looking for a refined sofisticated ride. I also think a few are getting their panties in a bunch because the sub $30K GTO is giving them a run for their money in every category.

And I can guaran-damn-tee that my shitty/rattly F-body turns twice the heads and gets more intrest from people than an M3 does. But then again, I never leave the trailer park.

How little ass he's getting?????

I'd re-think that dude... he's in a BMW. I'd bet $100 that'll attract more tail than an f-body.

In fact, I'm pretty sure there was a study done in GQ, or some men's magazine which showed BMW drivers get more action than any other car's driver.

You guys are dillusional if you think a Camaro or Trans Am is a sexier ride than an M3. That's just whacky.

"ass" is referring to performance if I'm not mistaken. Synonym for "balls".

Furthermore, I say again, what in the blue bloody blazes is everyone talking about by "poor build quality" and "shitty interiors"? I've been in those euro cars. I'm not impressed. It's an interior. Great. I have one too and it's just fine. Everything works, it's comfortable, it doesn't fall apart, there are no missing pieces, there are no half assed gaps, there is no drooping headliner, and, there are no rattles anywhere in the car. The 4th gen is stiff guys. About 45%, or more, stiffer than the 3rd gens. One of the big racers/parts sellers (I can't remember who it was now, I think it was Sam Strano, but don't quote me on that) relayed to me a story of an LT1 4th gen he knows that was drag raced and road raced since day one, has a few hundred thousand miles on it, and is still straight and rattle free. Oh yeah, no bracing on it.

So what does that leave BMW for "superiority"? IRS? That's about it. Yeah, I know, now I'll be called delusional. Right. More like I don't drink the kool-aid import marketing has laid out for us.

What a bunch of pompous assclowns.

I used to own a 1994 3-series, until it started to fall apart and cost me $$$. It was bad enough that the brakes would squeel and co$t $500 everytime I had to have them resurfaced, but the electronics were shit, interior pieces started coming off and I was the original owner.

BMW's are no better than any other car when they get old, just more expensive.

It was a nice ride while it lasted, but it didn't. Most BMW owners are slaves to their leases and end up turning over cars every 3-4 years. That way they don't get to see how much of a POS those things are.

As for interior, yes... they're better, period. For the most part, the seats feel better, the materials feel better, the steering wheel feels better, just better... again, until it starts to fall apart.

As for braking and handling, I can pick up a great condition F-body right now for ~$15k, put another $5k into wheels, suspension and brakes and still have another $20k for anything else I want to do.

Just like the ricers, my supped-up F-bod will crush a better car for cheaper, if the right parts are put together and just like the ricers, I'll always only have what I started with in the eyes of the better car.

So, enjoy what you drive and keep running those M3's into the ground.

I had my parents spend too much on me for my car, but hey, I'm cool right? Right? Wait, of course I am. I have a Bimmer, doiy! I don't need intelligence or class, because I have a Bimmer to do that FOR me! I'm such a hot stud, because I have a Bimmer! I know that everywhere I go, people just move over for me, and stare at me, because I have a Bimmer!

Damn, if only my car had more vanity mirrors so I could stare at myself more... Shit, where'd I put my hairspray? Mom! Can I use your hairspray!? And your purse?
