Last Friday, Lindsay Cadillac sponsored a track day at Summit Point Shenandoah course. They were able to wrangle 3 09 CTS-V's there. One was for show, and two ran on the track with the intermediate/advanced HPDE group. Of the 2 that ran, one was a mule, and the other was a near production car.
They sounded awesome, and really moved out.
There were 40+ cts-v's there which was really cool.
I had the mule pass me during the 4th session (the first one of the day in the dry), and while I lifted a bit to let him pass, he went by me like I was standing still. Now I'm no hot shoe by any stretch of the imagination (about 8 HPDE events under my belt), and have a lot to learn, but a drag race down the straight doen't take that much skill

...sooo....
I just put a cam in my car. On the way to summit I raced my buddy who has an '05 STR-10 viper, and from 70-135 we were dead even, so my car puts out some power.
The '09 mule, seriously
passed me like I was in reverse. Those '09 V's will definately be no joke.
I didn't have my camera in the car, as it was pouring buckets in the morning, and I figured no reason, to film me going through the curves at 25 mph, on some almost bald craptastic Nittos. After lunch it dried out, and I was too busy swapping tires and what not, to put the camera in. Finally got it in, for 5th session, but that was cut short when my buddy totalled his V (whooooops!). I did get a bit of film from the 6th session, but it had horrific wind noise (I added a bunch of comments in the vid to make it watcheable), and not much in the way of action.
[Note: these are kinda hard to watch. The comments have some inside jokes for V forum members that won't make a bit of sense. NO '09s to see either.]

Anyway, '09 V will be awesome for sure.
