Default 12 bolt strange posi unit only

I have the posi unit out of my old strange 12 bolt setup that fits 33 spline axles. the posi has about 2k on it and works great. Ill take 100 plus the ride for it. let me know

Maybe they have multiple 12 bolts and multiple gearsets to use?

You are correct, If it's a series-3 you can go up to a 4.11(thick) gear.

If it's a series-4 carrier you can go from 3.73-up, but the 3.73 is a thin cut gear and may be more noisy than a 3.73 on a series-3 carrier.

I have a series-4 carrier with my 4.11's but am looking for a series-3.

My point is, somebody looking to bolt up a 3.42 ring gear on it wouldn't be happy if it is a series-4.
