Default QTP Prototype Side Exit Exhaust???

Saw this on another thread and it's really got me curious
Myself as well as I'm sure many others are in the market for a new exhaust.
Is this something us consumers may be able to consider in the near future???
Hopefully somebody from QTP can chime in......

Yeah it's definitely gonna look like on a firebird.

Hard to tell by the video, but that looks similar to the Dr Gas boom tube setup that I've seen run on a handful of cars.

I was thinking the same thing. It's really difficult to pull off the side exhaust concept on our cars w/o either looking like crap or dragging on everything. That's why I was kinda excited to see someone trying to make it work and possibly market it.

You can hear from the puffft sound every time in that video that it's just header and pipe. How does anyone think that sounds good or want to drive a car like that?

Guys, thanks for your interest in this system. I made this for my car to pass the noise restrictions at the race track when we are not allowed to open our cutouts. To answer some of your questions. There is no issue with ground clearance what so ever. We used oval tubing for the side exit. The muffler is not large and sits under the rear passenger seat. The system is not that loud. Very clean sounding and deep. On my car with a large cam our headers and off road y pipe it passes noise restrictions at the track. I got complements on it the first time out at the track.

So if you guys are interested in this system i need some feed back.

What material do you want it made out of?
Stainless Steel or Aluminized Steel?
Single or Dual Oval Tips?
Do you want a light weight version or a standard version(16 or 18 gauge)
What is a target price for the system you are looking for(please be reasonable)

I also need a stock manifold Camaro to get this rolling. Mine is so far from stock that is not a good test bed. So if you are in NJ contact us.

Thanks

I for one am definitely interested in it and if I lived anywhere even remotely close to New Jersey I'd give you my car as a test bed in a heartbeat. Unfortunately I'm over 1000 miles away.
Ever since I've had my car, I've been in search of a unique exhaust for it. I personally love the side exit exhaust idea and always wanted to figure out how to make it work on my car while looking good at the same time.
I don't want to speak for everybody, but I think the easiest route for you guys would be to manufacture it so the system would connect to LT's, since I think the majority of Fbody owners have them. Making it a true dual system would be great, maybe going into an x-pipe, some bullet mufflers, and then out the side of the car. Maybe something similar to the TSP dual setup but w/ a side exit.
Aluminized steel would probably be best to help keep costs down. Stainless would be awesome however most people won't shell out the extra $$$.
Utilizing the oval tubing is a great idea, especially since there isn't a whole lot of room to work with under there.
Either a single or dual square tip would look fantastic.
Probably somewhere around $400 would be a fair price. I'd definitely shell that out and if you guys come out w/ a system I'll probably be your first customer
Hopefully there's enough interest out there for ya'll to manufacture this.

i second what is said above, i will be looking to get a dumped duals setup this winter when the car goes into hibernation, but i would be pretty interested in a good looking side exit dual setup with a good crossover something like the tsp duals with side exit. if it could be done in the 400 range like the tsp duals you guys would sell a lot i would think as right now no one is competing with tsp in the mass produced true dual market.

so key points would be:
good clearence
good flow/crossover
hooks up to longtubes
competitively priced with tsp
good looking tips

Guys, the one you see on the car is a not duals. Its a single side exit. I can make a dual version but the muffler i made is larger than a bullet and would be a problem with ground clearance.

o well **** i dont know then, lets see pics of what you have now. what do you think of the duals thing as it seems there is a niche for someone else to produce some duals and compete with tsp?

Single side exit wouldn't be too bad, it would just be awesome however if it was a true dual system.
Anybody else out there have opinions???
