So does my car count as a special edition??
I have a 1999 T/A Sevan Series. it was a dealer production from evan pontiac out of dallas Tx. dealer got the car and sent it off to LG Motorsports. there where only a few made. Any insite??????
What is "SevanSeries"?
The SevanSeries Trans Ams are dealer customs assembled by Evans Pontiac. At their inception, they were stock, fully-loaded Trans Ams customized by LG Motorsports and Evans' own body shop for the hood and badging. Evans stopped using LG Motorsports during the 2000 model year, though. "SevanSeries" is a tribute to "Steve Evans", the owner of Evans Pontiac in Dallas, TX. "S-Evans" is the derivitive of the "Sevans" in the "SevanSeries" name. Other than the Mecham TA, this was, at the time, one of the most powerful Trans Ams available from a dealer lot that wasn't a trade. Sevans cars dyno at approximately 360 Horses at the flywheel, which is 15 more than a stock Corvette C5. The gain in HP and TQ was directly attributed to the Raptor Hoods and the Borla exhaust running wide open.
Thanks,
Brad

Its not a factory "specialty car", but it is a dealership special edition. That particular package probably won't add to any collectibility value since the dealership isn't mega-popular across the country (like Berger, Yenko, Baldwin-Motion, etc...) but it will make the car unique and have a cool story to share later on.

There were a bunch of these cars put out from 2000 on from Evans. I live a few miles from this dealer. They state that they sell more TAs then anyone in the country. This is what their signs said when the TA was still being made. Anyway, it is not uncommon to see these Sevan series TAs rolling around Dallas. You will find the option on the original window sticker as a dealer installed option.

I purchased my Maple Red Sevan in 2000 from Evans. I do get quite a few questions about it when I go to the track. As far as I know, there's not much of a story behind these cars besides they were a dealer offered special. I asked for a list of mods when I purchased the car are below is what I was told had been done.
Borla Exhaust System
Eibach Pro-Kit Lowering Springs
K&N High Performance Air Filter
Hurst Skip Shif Eliminator (This list item was crossed out since I have a M6)
Toyo Tires
Raptor Style Hood
Hurst Short Shifter
Enkei Wheels

Yup, I like these cars. Your's is a very pretty color that I don't see much in Dallas now. I remember when they came out thinking it was cool that a local dealer offered the upgrades right out of the box, like some did in the older days of the Camaro/Firebird. Congratulations on the great car, maybe I'll see you at the track this year. You would be hard to miss and so would I.

Do you go to RedLine? That's where I spend almost all of my track time. I've only been to Ennis once.
BTW - I was corrected on the Hurst Skip Shift. It was crossed out on the list the dealer gave me, but it is specifically for the M6. Boy do I feel un-educated!

I wondered about the ship shif thing, but I didn't want to put you on the spot. I normally go to Ennis. Is Redline a 1/4 or 1/8 mile track? Is it the one in Denton?
If so, I've never been to that one.

Performance wise, the car is no different than any other T/A. The borla cat-back will gain nothing over the WS6 exhaust. And the Raptor hood will gain you no HP. 360 flywheel is closer to what LS1's actually put out Vs their 320 claims from GM.

Sevan Series T/A.
I just wanted to say that is one sweet T/A you got. I am from the mesquite area and I saw a Green Sevan Series the other day and was wondering what it meant. My dad owns 2 '02 T/A's (black on black and yellow Collectors edition) and has never heard of Sevan Series. Now that I know I can relay it to him.
