Rock-On customers coming out of the wood works...
I decided to start my own thread about them --->
Hrm... I know everyone here hates the guys jumping on the "bandwagon" but time to share my story as well, maybe I can save someone.
So.. (again this has been so ******* long I don't remember exact dates without pulling up old bills.) I hear great things about rock on, and decide to use them. This was roughly september when I called and ordered the transmission, paid in full. I made sure to make it clear that I am military, and deploying to Iraq in december and needed the car running so I could move it by december 18th to storage. Dave personally said "not a problem AT ALL." Granted, Dave was always very courteous on the phone. Well.. I goto CAX November 10th (Anyone in the Marines is familiar with this, a month-long training operation in the desert of 29 Palms). I was gone until Dec 10th. I get back and a local shop had my car and was receiving the tranmission from Dave. It took almost 2 months to get the transmission in the first place. I *FINALLY* get it (I got my fuddle converter in about 1.5 weeks.) and they put it in that night, stayed late and I helped them. The car starts, we go to drive it. Doesn't work. The next day take it to a local So-Cal performance tranny shop (Toy Shop in Pomona) who takes it apart and said the transmission was built like crap and completely garbage. Half the parts he said we're junk. (Whether before or after being put on the car I don't know). I contact Dave about it, and he seems to want to help. Knowing by now his crappy *** return times I am stuck. So I fork out and get a very very nice deal for a completely new transmission from Toy Shop, which of course, works great on the first try, and lasts 2,200 mile drive non-stop to illinois, with some 160mph bursts (including the one I got cited for, haha). I contact Dave about the transmission, but I run out of time seeing I have to deploy and I won't have phone/internet. So I left it up to my family. They were willing to help, and sent the transmission back to Dave. I had tried to back-charge the credit card because I paid 2,000$ for ******* junk and saw no way of getting it fixed. I couldn't do that, because of his "warranty policy"--So BUYER BEWARE OF THAT. Although I cancelled that credit card too (Citi bank) because for a huge *** limit, they sure don't back their customers up. So he has the transmission the WHOLE 8 months I am in Iraq. With family contacting him multiple times a week. He then REFUSES to fix it because "it is missing some parts." Well, no **** ******* the transmission was probably missing them when I got it. It was ******* garbage. I figured a warranty should cover the parts anyways. I guess I was wrong. Well they finally just ask for the shitty "core" transmission back so we atleast have SOMETHING. That again, took forever. Only when presented with the threat of going to court over the ordeal because my family had detailed logs of every contact attempt. The bitch that answers their phone needs to get slapped with some manners too. I guess once you give your money to them you don't rate ****.(not even a working transmission). Finally, we get the core back about 2 weeks before I get back to the states (at our cost, of course, another 200$ freight charge. The freighter also informs us that he rejected the first way they "packed it" because it was just thrown on a crate. He made them strap it down properly). Now I will have to get it built by a local shop in illinois that has built my tranny and it works GREAT. So i can sell it and HOPEFULLY dent the ******* bills I made from this.
Maybe Rock On used to be good, but, as far as I can see there is NO REASON to use them for anyone. It is a headache, nobody gets their **** on time, and I am still steamed over this whole situation. Not something I want to come back to. Dave might be a nice guy, whatever, but I didn't pay him 2000$ to be nice to me on the phone I got other numbers for that.
I would never recommend them to anyone, and have had multiple good transmission builders tell me after looking into the one I got from him that it was complete garbage.

You ordered a transmission...we built and shipped. Six weeks later we get a partial transmission from some fellas in Cali. All of our internals are missing! Your mom goes to the credit card company...asks for your money back. Your mom sent several letters to the finance company...as did we. The finance company decided that you weren't entitled to the transmission and the money ...they side in our favor. We sent you what you sent us. What you paid for. A combination of our stuff and them other fellas junk parts.
I've already addressed this through a third party, we were vindicated with them...It was a loss from both sides, we sent you what you paid for, seems you decided not to utilize your warranty with us , you decided to be lured in with another shop, What the hell did you think the other shop (our competitor) would say? Why the hell would you pay the kind of money and ignore our warranty? Our warranty has been but in place to protect our customers as well as us. Right from the word go it was your camp that tried to get a Transmission for nothing.
You show your *** by calling us, ******** and bitchs, you sir have never spoken to my wife. We've had to deal with your mommy (she’s a nice lady). Then you want to compare yourself to a marine?? You Sir wouldn't make a pimple on a marine’s ***; I’ve never met a disrespectful Marine in my life, then along comes you. Eric stop hiding behind your mom and the other Marines and be a man, step out and up. BTW, thanks for your service to our country, in this time of occupation. Hope this helps……. Dave

Oh yeah -- SORRY I was in a third ******* world country and didn't have a chance to grab my cell phone and call you back. Incase you forgot that. What are you talking about other marines?
And how would some random shop in california be your competitor. So are you saying that they lied to me then, am I to take your word over theirs?
You built and shipped after telling me multiple times "oh it was shipped/will be shipped tomorrow ill call you back" and of course never ONCE called me. I always had to jump through three hoops to get you on the phone. All of your "internals" were toasted anyways.
Seeing as we don't have the transmission AND the money, but I guess that is fair to you. I wouldn't expect my transmission to get to me broken either.
As far as "other fellas junk parts" I don't know what you are talking about, whatever was in that transmission was what I got from you. "Utilizing" your warranty would mean I would probably have to wait 2-3+ months before I would even pray about having a transmission back, and you knew that I needed to have it up before I left.
I don't see how I tried to get a transmission for nothing, I paid you the ****** money and you sent me something that DID NOT WORK FROM THE WORD GO.
I've never spoken to your wife huh? So I guess back when I first called you all the times I got her and was promised "he'll call you right back" wasn't her? And you can go **** yourself if you say I "want to compare myself to a Marine".. I am pretty sure I know what I am and have done. You need to stop hiding behind whoever the woman is that answers your phone and be a man and give people what the **** they pay for. Marines are respectful, it has been a year since I ordered the transmission from you. I think my patience has slightly worn out.
Maybe returning products paid for in a timely matter would help too, or hell, even building a transmission that works. I am suuure I'm on here trying to get **** for nothing, that is why I have dumped plenty of money into many sponsors on this board.
From the looks of it I am not the only dissatisfied customer on here now who has spent money with you to come up empty handed, so I'm not too worried.

We resolved these issues when you were proudly serving our country in Iraq.
The toy shop returned parts to us without our custom made parts and our shipping case and called it a Rock-On. Nothing in that card board box was distinguishable as a Rock-On transmission. While we received these parts it was weeks before we were able to determine who sent them to us or which customer they were associated with. We returned these parts to your mother assuming she’d have the toy shop rebuild this unit.
This problem has been resolved through the credit card company, and we are sorry you didn’t have the opportunity to enjoy a true Rock-On Transmission.
Any further battle that you have should be taken up with the toy shop… I hope this helps Dave

Nothing was ever resolved, I still paid you 2grand and have nothing to show for it. Wouldn't your "warranty" cover any broken parts? "custom made parts" such as what? The ones you buy from other companies, the same as everyone else and assemble? I don't see how it can take weeks to determine who they were from when my party was trying to contact you weekly or more, unless you have multiple customers in california having problems with your transmission at the same time? Why would the toy shop rebuild a unit that you "built" in the first place. Some warranty. Just like I said, I knew it would be a hassle, it is hard enough to even get you guys on the phone, let alone get info for a returned transmission and actually expect to get it back. You already had my money (obviously) and don't give a ****.
Regardless of anything, bottom line is, got your "super built" tranny and it did not work from the beginning. Had local tranny shop inspect it and find garbage parts inside. I am pretty sure I was cheated on this deal, oh well. **** comes around. Just want to make sure other buyers are aware of this before buying transmissions from you guys-- but it looks like you are starting to dominate the negative feedback of the sponsor forums now anyways.
So if anyone wants horrible customer service, lies fed to them whenever they FINALLY get through or just a general lack of any info on your 2,000$ product then go ahead and use Rock On. I would add to the fact that the transmission didn't work at all, but a few members say they do work.
