Thumbs down we_todd_did - Unwilling to own up to his mistake

I purchased an intake manifold from William Ergle on August 30th. I received the intake a few days ago but didn't get a chance to open it until this afternoon. Upon opening the box, the intake to no surprise was broken. The intake was placed in a box, WITH NO PACKAGING WHAT SO EVER. I notified William of the broken intake, offered to send it back and asked for a refund. He says it's not his fault it got broken in shipping and will refund $35 since it costs him $15 to ship it. I simply put asked for the full refund because it could have been avoided if he would have taken a few minutes to package the intake correctly. He refuses, of course.

I just though I would put this out here for anyone purchasing something from him, he obvoiusly isn't willing to own up to his mistake and make this right so be careful in dealing with him.

UPS, and yes it is BUT UPS will only cover the damage after they inspect the packaging. And there was no packaging, it was just tossed in a box and taped up. I will post pictures shortly.

I think he should give you a full refund since he failed to pack it properly. It was his responsibility until it arrived on your doorstep in a safe and unharmed manner.

I told you what I offered and that is resonable. Its not my fault it was obviously done in transit. Paypal seen it my way also. Like I said I will file it on insurance and when I get the money,or they may send it to you Im not sure it will be done. Im fair, and I thought that was more then fair.

It IS your fault. You packed it like ****, and packing it correctly was your responsibility. Either refund him the FULL amount, or we will add a "bad seller" status to your account.

I'm sick of people that do not take responsibility for their own actions. Is your reputation worth $50?

No it is not fair. You didn't package the intake properly and you know that. It is not my fault that you did that and I am not going to lose money over YOUR MISTAKE! This all could have been avoided if you would have taken a few minutes to properly pack the intake like any other person would. File the insurance claim, I will do whatever needs to be done from here but I deal with UPS everyday and know they are not going to refund your money because you didn't package the intake properly.

Man up to your mistake and refund my money, write this down as a lesson learned and move on.

You have 48 hrs to issue a full refund via paypal, or your user status will be changed, and you will no longer have access to the classifieds forums or the use of PM's here.

Take accountability for your own actions.

So now I have to waste more money because of your incompetence? You pay return shipping and I would be glad to.

It was not packaged properly, just tossed in a box with tape. UPS will not refund your money once they see this. Please let me know, I can drop it off at the warehouse right up the street.

We have a little problem. Got the intake, just got a chance to open it. There was no packaging what so ever and the whole back of the intake is bashed in, which means it is not usable. Please refund the payment and I will send this back. I cannot be responsible for broken intakes because of no packaging.

Thanks,
Nathan
Im going to have to file a claim and then I will refund your money. I dont have it to refund untill ups picks it up and check it out and then they will pay me and then I will pay you.
seeing how it has been 2 days since you got it and just now letting me know how do I know that it was my intake that was damaged since you have bought dozens. You can go through paypal there not going to refund you cause I shipped the item, it was damaged in shipping and not by me. Plus hell it cost me 15 bucks to send it to you so you want me to refund 50 when we agreed you would pay 60. We can go through ups or you can go through paypal if ups doesnt pay me the money then I will refund the 35 bucks and you can just keep it. Let me know.
You ship back and I will refund thats my final offer its more then fair.

Yeah I am going to ruin my reputation over a $50 intake that you neglected to package correctly and now are trying to put the blame on me. I am not wasting $15 to send this hunk of crap back, pay the shipping and I will gladly send it.

I AM NOT PAYING FOR YOUR MISTAKE! LEARN HOW TO PACKAGE SOMETHING BEFORE SHIPPING IT AND QUIT TRYING TO BLAME OTHERS FOR YOUR IDIOTIC MISTAKES.

Paypal me $50 and this will be over, paypal me $65 and I will send this hunk of crap back. OR do nothing and ruin your name, it's up to you.
