Just thought I'd post up in here that I finally ordered the Porter Cable kit, SIP, TC3 and TC8 that I've been meaning to order for so long.

I see shiny cars in my future !

Thanks Steve !

Very interested in getting the 7424 but cant just quite yet, will likely be the end of june/early july. Will this still be applicable?

Also, q about the PC, I have paint cleaners/polishes/waxes that I apply by hand now, am I able to put those on the PC pads? (Not too sure on how the whole PC business works)

Thanks

As long as it is a liquid product, there should be no problem with the PC.

We don't have a "kit" with just the pads, but they are all available individually. What pads are you interested in? Also free shipping on the pads!!

With a buffer do you just put it on the pads and go? Then replace the pad with a fresh one and go over it again?

Yes the pads fit directly on the backing plate (velcro style). Use one pad (black, blue)to apply polish, etc. Then put on an orange pad with a bonnet to remove the polish. Very easy to switch between pads.

The boat would be the same pads as a vehicle. The orange pad for more "cutting" depending on the shape of the fiberglass. Then apply the polish with the blue or black pad. I have detailed a few boats and it works just the same as the cars. I do one customers boat every year and he says the "clean up" after use is so easy with a good coat of polish/wax.

Do you think the cutting pad would be good for getting water spots out? We are pretty good with taking care of the boat, always wiping it dry when it comes out of the lake, and do a full polish/wax twice a year. but there are some hard water spots we can't really get out.

Maybe a dumb q.. the pads are reusable right? I mean are they washable like microfiber towels?

Depending on the spots, the "polishing" pad might remove the water spots. If not the Orange pad should do it.

Yes, the pads are reusable. You can even put them in the washer if you want. I clean mine after each use with a pad spur (removes left over product) then throw them in the washer. I let them air dry and they are ready to go.
