I have a pro 5.0 shifter in my ws6, and i ordered a hurst white shift **** from speedinc, and the **** will not fit on my shifter. Its too big. Any ideas??

 

The threads are too big? You must have got the wrong part...

 

The shifter is smaller than the shift ****. If i was to try to screw the **** on, i cant because the **** is too big. I don't know if that makes sense. I can just slide the **** on top of the shifter and right back off. It would be like "the shifter is a small bolt, and the screw for the bolt is to big, therefore; it just slides up and down" the hurst **** says it fits a pro 5.0 the car has a 03-04 cobra shift **** on it right now. "Thats how it was when i bought the car"

 

So i guess the guy who had my car before me put a pro 5.0 for a mustang t-56, well at least the short stick because it's a 12.5 mm or something of that sort.
