for the coil packs what is the difference between the regular coil and headsinked? heat protection?

 

the ones with heat sinks are the hot truck coils, they have a much higher output than the stock ls1 coils or the square truck coils

the heat sink also allows for tuning to increase the dwell time without frying the coils

they are desireable for forced induction applications and some people with heads/cam setups claim gains of 5-10 rwhp over stock coils
