Default More updates on our Stage 3X on a stock 346 short block, 491 RWHP and 431 RWTQ.

We just finished the Stage 3X updates on Pete's 98 Camaro and managed 491 RWHP and 431 RWTQ.

This is his list of mods for each run.

Run # 024
Stage 2-X heads
Stage 2-X 224-228 Hyd. cam
TPIS Oval Intake
TPIS TB
EWP
LID
Stock MAF
30# inj
2-1/2 inch dual exhaust with mufflers
1-3/4 headers
9 inch Ford with 4.10s
LS1-edit tuning

Run # 037
Stage 3-X heads
Stage 3-X Hyd. cam
TPIS Oval Intake
TPIS TB
EWP
LID
Stock MAF
30# inj
2-1/2 inch dual exhaust with mufflers
1-3/4 headers
9 inch Ford with 4.10s
With belt
LS1-edit tuning

Run # 040
Stage 3-X heads
Stage 3-X Hyd. cam
TPIS Oval Intake
TPIS TB
EWP
LID
Stock MAF
30# inj
2-1/2 inch dual exhaust with mufflers
1-3/4 headers
9 inch Ford with 4.10s
No belt
LS1-edit tuning

I think the 2-1/2" exhaust and the 9 inch are hurting his HP a bit. He needs the 9 inch, but maybe we can talk him into a better exhaust.

Thumbs up

OH MY GOD! That's totally INSANE!

Pete still has these rusty old headers that are dented and shortened with no real collector on them, 2.5" exhaust with full mufflers and a bone stock MAF...just speculative of course but could those few changes (and/or a new FAST intake) possibly yield him the ever elusive 500rwhp from an NA 346?
Awesome results guys.

WOW, that is amazing........

That HP curve looks like one of Cedar Points roller coaster hills, it just keeps climbing and fast.

It's still amazing on how you guys keep getting more and more out of a 346.

When I get my 409 stroker done next year, maybe 550-575 HP won't be hard to reach if I get the right parts...

Umm..... WOW. Are the cam specs a secret? I'm just wondering if its a monster like the LG cams or more tame like that 2-X cam.

Wow. Congrats Pete and Cartek. Let me just say before the haters pile on, that I have seen Pete's car run with his old setup, and his track numbers back up the dyno. Awsome guys.

Torque Curve looks much less "peaky" than the last graph you posted?

Is this because of a better tune or a different cam?

Great results~!

Damn!!!!!!!!!!! If Pete has the ***** to drive the living **** outta the car and the track condition/weather are good, I predict a 10.4x @ 132.mph.

Way to go Cartek, as usual on the cutting edge of LS1 technology. I'm proud to be one of your customers!

Unbelieveable!!! Now trash that 2.5" exhaust and slap a good "X" pipe and 3" exhaust on there and I think 500 RWHP is right around the corner!

Yep. Thinking the same thing....... if those #'s are truely accurate then with a 10 bolt that car is OVER 500RWHP with the stock bottom. That is kick ***.

I think they should do it just to get the number. Although area under the curve is better, the stroker boys have some work to do! Wow.
