Default LS1 Crank Pulley Install Tool - $20 SHIPPED

Category: Drivetrain
Price: $20
Part Fits: 93-02 Chevrolet Camaro, 93-02 Pontiac Firebird
Location (State): AL
Item Condition: Brand New
Engine: LS2/LS3/LS7/L92/LS9, LS1/LS6
LS Engine?: Non-LS Part

I just swapped pulley's on my SOM car and decided to make my own install tool rather than buy another one doe almost $50 (I bought one off of here a couple years ago but couldnt find it.) I used the correct thread (M16x2.0) threaded rod and nut along with a couple large washers the size of the head on the OEM bolt. It worked great, but I had to buy everything in bulk so I had enough to make 5 tools...so I figured I would sell the extra 4.

They are about 6.5in long....long enough to thread all the way into the crank and start the pulley and still short enough to be able to tighten it down with deep well 24mm socket (the same size that takes the stock bolt out!) I cut these, slightly rounded the ends and cleaned the threads...they are ready to use and are really the only safe way to install the pulley!!! Using a bolt (even a longer than stock one) to pull it on risks damaging the threads in the crank snout. Its easy to use just seat the pulley fully using this tool, torque it using the stock bolt and then do the final torque with the new bolt and your good to go.

$20 SHIPPED

Paypal is ramsst1997@hotmail.com

they are a good price for the tool, but I really hope you can't be that ignorant/arrogant to think this is the "only safe way to install the pulley" There are other (although more expensive) tools that are just as good if not safer.

While I am pretty arrogant I am certainly not ignorant....what I meant (and I think anybody with common sense will know thats what I meant) is that this method of installing the pulley is the safest way to do it....its even more apparent if you dont take that quote out of context...."really the only safe way to install the pulley!!! Using a bolt (even a longer than stock one) to pull it on risks damaging the threads in the crank snout." I didnt figure I needed to even address the beat it on with a hammer method. And I am very aware of all the other more expensive tools you speak of (which I clearly copied the design of) and they use this exact same method to install the pulley...the only thing I can think of that would make some better is having a thrust bearing to push the nut against but its not required and would add about $20 to the price. And for the average do-it-yourselfer thats going to do maybe one or two pullies a year its hard to justify $50-$80 for a tool...thats why many use the more unsafe methods.

But thanks for critizing me and saying that the $50-$80 tools are "just as good" as the one I am selling for $20.
