Default SOM pics of our cars at night show this past weekend

One cool thing about the N. AL area is that they tend to have shows that start at say 8am and go to 4pm on Sat and then another one that starts at 5pm and goes until 9pm. Thats cool...and makes an all day thing of it! But what can you do to show off your engine bay or suspension in the dark....right lights! But you have to be careful as you want to avoid the dreaded neon curse or the glow associated with it. So I VERY VERY carefully placed white LEDs (they do look blue but they are about 6000K in color) under my car to illuminate the suspension so the judges and specators could see it. The pics were VERY over exposed to really increase the effect. VERY VERY little light actually shines on to the ground and what does is shining off of the chrome under the car. Those of you that saw it at the G14 and other places can attest to it being nothing like under car neons and is very classy and clean. I get compliment after compliment on them. But enough stressing over what the uneducated haters might say...let me just say I have won every night show I have been to since adding the lights.

Now the pics:

From the first show that day:

Then the evening show:

To put it simply...the lights that light up the wheels are 24in LED strips wrapped around the axel just behind the rotors. Then they are 20 or so 12in strips placed in different places under the car to light up the suspension.

It really does look amazing...not because of the lights but because of what the lights show (and thats exactly what i wanted.) They were lots of video taken of it rolling at night at the G14 but I havent seen any posted.

Thanks, like I said I did it just to show off whats under the car...not to have lights under it. We went to a lot of night time shows last year and didnt do as well as we are used to because you just couldnt see anything under the car...so I solved that! Had the car just been clean or stock under there I wouldnt have put these on either.

Like I said its pretty simple to install...hiding them and getting them to light up what you want is whats hard. I spent about a month getting these "just right" and that will really very by car.

No problem...the underhood lights are by far the easiest. I will show you how I hid them next weekend...and you can copy me if you want! LOL

97ramsst: Hope you don't mind my show & tell. Just that I don't see to many people lighting up their engine bays. At first, people scoffed at my idea, then I open my hood...

Your set up came out awesome!! There's nothing with thinking outside the box...I say.
