New best NA and first nitrous pass...
Track was packed today! They opened the gates early, and it took me 40 minutes to get through tech. First 3 runs were made on motor, and also the first time I've run the car since installing the disc brakes, 5-point rollbar and ram air, and I'd also gone to 28 x 9 ET streets from 26 x 10, so all I was hoping for was 11.50s since my previous best was 11.519. Air wasn't bad (low 50s and 40-50% humidity)
Well 1st pass:
60 - 1.626 (slightly spinning)
330 - 4.712
1/8 - 7.332
mph - 93.65
1000 - 9.606
1/4 - 11.538
mph - 116.17
Followed that with a new NA best:
60 - 1.613 (better hook)
330 - 4.693
1/8 - 7.310
mph - 93.63
1000 - 9.582
1/4 - 11.512
mph - 116.29
Then an 11.544 at 116.12 pass.
After debating it, I decided to crack the bottle open and see if I could break the 10s on a 100 hp shot.
First run, car spun and went for the center line, so I short-shifted 1st-2nd gear and got a:
60 - 1.603
330 - 4.563
1/8 - 7.051
mph - 98.86
1000 - 9.197
1/4 - 11.019
mph - 123.20
Damnit!
Then I wait for a time run for almost 2 hours, now it's 4:15 (started running at 10:45) and got:
60 - 1.588
330 - 4.473
1/8 - 6.939
mph - 99.23
1000 - 9.068
1/4 - 10.889
mph - 122.03
Finally got a 10 second pass, and the car was still spinning! Thinking about trying some rancho adjustable shocks instead of my current comp engineering drag shocks.
GeorgeC was there and hopefully he'll have some video posted soon of 2 runs I made.
Sorry so long, but at least my racing season started out good!

I get my liscense back the middle of Febuary, so I'll be planning a trip up there as soon as the 86' is all sorted out. I'm shooting for March - April realistically.

Derek, I've only got one of the videos done so far... It's the NA pass. The link to it is... http://www.coffeyracing.com/media/derek_1.wmv. Right click on the link and choose "Save As..."
I even put up one of my old farm truck as well, which is at http://www.coffeyracing.com/media/farmtruck.wmv. Again, right click and save as...
I'll get the N2O video up sometime later... I guess I should've stuck around for the 10 second pass. Congrats!!!!!

thank you Catfish!
Shame I couldn't have taped your 12.99 pass, and same for my 10.88 pass. I would have left too had my car done the deed on the first nitrous attempt, took until 3:45 to make the 2nd pass!

Coach,
the spray is just for kicks, I usually don't use it for bracket racing.
FYI, on the LED bulbs Gainesville now has in the tree, on my three NA runs I cut .011, .015, .016 bulbs I'm ready for the season to start as far as reaction times, but still need to do some tuning with the suspension.
How's the hot rod doing?

Your reaction times are right on the money.
