NEW in the crate GM Performance Parts LSX std. deck block - latest generation. FULLY machined and ready to assemble. Block is machined to a 4.125" bore. Can build a 427" (4.0" crank) or 440" (4.125" crank), smaller cubes can be done as well with the benefit of a BIG breathing bore.
Stock stroke (3.622") will make a high winding 388". If you haven't seen or worked with one of these blocks, - they need ALOT of work when they come out of the crate before they can be run!

The block has been square decked using a BHJ fixture to 9.255". These blocks come at 'roughly' 9.260"-9.265" for a std. deck application. I took as little off as necessary to square the decks from side to side.

The bores were done on a V40 RMC vertical block mill and are on true centers to blueprint. The block comes at 3.880", that was alot of boring. Most shops would charge at least double the 'normal' rate to bore one of these out to 4.125".

The block was then torque plate honed with a 6-bolt BHJ plate and ARP Pro Series studs to a finish size of 4.1255"-4.1257" to run a typical 2618 forged aluminum piston with the necessary clearance.

The block was align-honed to size on the mains to small end of spec. 2.7509" with ARP Pro Series main studs installed. These blocks come roughly .002" undersize on the main saddles and must be machined.

The lifter bores were also checked for size and lightly honed for use of a std. lifter.

The block was washed thoroughly and the cam bearings bores were checked for size and aftermarket laser welded HD babbit cam bearings were installed. GM provides low grade 'clinch' type soft cam bearings that look like they have been ran already with the block kit when purchased. Junk.

This block is in the original shipping box, bagged and out of the elements. It includes all the hardware and paperwork that came with it from GMPP.

If you add up the cost of the block, ARP Pro Series main and head studs, cam bearings, and all the machine shop labor costs you are over 3450.00 plus the shipping charges. Questionable machining practices are always the unknown at local machine shops who don't do LS engines or have the equipment to them right, this block was done at a shop that knows 'LS engines', no worries about quality!

Ready to assemble with no wait time and most of all no worries.
