I have a brand new, never used AEM EMS Standalone engine management system. We bought 3 at the same time. One is in my car right now and I have run 8.9 @ 153 as a best 1/4 mile. The computer comes as a backplate and circuit board. You have to remove the top cover from your stock 99-02 PCM and bolt it to the AEM. It mounts in the stock location and looks just like the stock computer when in place. It's a direct plug and play, so your harness plugs right in plus it has a few inputs and outputs for stuff like WBO2 sensors, triggers, transbrake etc. It also controls the 4L60 and 4L80 electronic transmissions. Has built in 2 step, and antilag. Drives the stock cluster. Controls fuel and spark sequentially. Pretty much does everything the stock computer can do plus gives you complete realtime tuning and wideband 02 closed loop correction. Very nice unit. Please note that 1998 fbodies use a different PCM. Getting it to work in a 98 (like mine) is a bit more complicated.

Please note that the images used are not what the EMS for the fbody looks like. When assembled, it looks just like your stock computer.

Ask anything you like here. Being that you have no posts and no feedback, your request looks like spam. The only way I could sell to you would be prepaid. I apologize if I got you wrong but I suggest you get some activity on your account.

Did you still have to use EFI Live to put the fuel sender segment in yours being a '98?

This is a complete standalone. Uses AEM software. No hptuners or efilive. No licensing bs either. I had to put a fuel gauge in it. This is only for a 98. With a 99-02, the gauge cluster should work just like stock.

How user friendly is the software? Any access to base tunes besides the aem forums?

Software is pretty user friendly and I am VERY familiar with it in the event that you should have a question. I'm always on here anyway. You can download the software from the site if you want to look at it. It has great documentation and the customer service guys at AEM are pretty knowledgeable as well. I'm sure I could email you something to get you started.

Same thing that you would have to do to get a 99-02 PCM to work in a 98. You would also need the top cover off a 99-02 computer.
