I have 2 Delphi 85mm MAF's that I'm not going to have a use for.

They are both still screened. I wasn't going to mess with tuning issues, so I left them on. You can take them off if you wish.

whats the benifit of this?

 

Its an 85 mm instead of a stock 78 mm fbody one.

Its said this would flow enough extra air for about 5hp which isn't bad at this price.

 

You can run a FTP 98mm lid and connect it directly to the MAF without the use of a coupler, and also the IAT sensor is located in the MAF itself, so no need to drill a hole in the lid.
