Default Titanium Control Arms

Anyone know anything about these control arms... http://www.paceparts.com/product.asp...1=310&3=191501

I searched the forums, but no mention.
Are they worth the $250?

7LBS, I'd say it's worth it if you're looking for the lightest possible LCA. Billingsley makes the lightest chromoly set I know of @ 4.5lbs each. It's up to you, but I'd take them for a ride.

How much for the Billingsley parts? And where do I get 'em?

Actually, I have a set of Billingsleys still in the boxes with dual rod ends. They're red and I have a double adj. panhard from them to match. They sent me the wrong color. If you want them I can have Larry from Speed Inc. hook you up. He's the one I got them from. They're super light, but I don't need dual adjs. Let me know or pm me.

My Tubular mild steel LCAs only weigh 8lbs, 7lbs doesnt sound very light compared to that.

Also, there not painted. Not sure on the affects of titiaum but I am sure in some way or another they might oxide

Titanium does oxidize, but not in the sense of forming rust (iron oxide) and eventually falling apart. They could be left unfinished, but would have looked much nicer if they were powdercoated.

Waste of money IMO. I'd just get a set of 1LE control arms, unless you're into heavy duty racing.

Thats what I meant, I figured over time something might happen to them.
Also agreed, overpriced for what you get.

The lightest would be the Madman design that BADZ sells. They are tubular aluminum and they weigh around 5lbs for both. They have rod ends too. They cost a lot less than those Ti pieces too.

I wonder if anybody makes subframe connectors out of Ti? They'd be good and stiff, since Titanium is twice as strong as steel, for half the weight. Probably not worth the exorbitant cost - $1000(?)

I think the LG aluminum tubular LCA's with rod ends would be the lightest. Lou doesn't have them on his site, so you have to call them. I have had them on my car for 16K+ miles with no problems.

But like CANNIBAL said, if they only had rod ends.

I'm more into road racing and autocross, but I think I have an unhealthy addiction to Ti

From what everyone has said, it seems that these arms don't gain you much. Especially if cheaper steel units are just as light. I don't want adjustable arms either. So I guess 1LE LCA's will do fine.

Under $100 sounds very tempting. To which companies are you refering?
