Default Oil question for Patman

I have been reading a lot of your VERY informative posts, and first of all, thanks your info has likely helped thousands of peope. I have pretty much decided on Mobil 1 0W40 as it is easily accessable at WalMart.
I assume 6 qts would be best, correct?
What do you think about using 5 of the 0W40 and 1 of the 15W50?
Do they mix well?
I spun a bearing last summer and really don't want to have that happen again.

Basically it is a heads/cam car with a big stall and all of the bolt-ons. It sees the track enough to be concerned, but it is still a daily driver.

6 quarts is a good amount for the LS1 f-body, and I see no need to mix in any 15w50 with the 0w40, as the 0w40 alone will offer more than enough protection, since it's viscosity at 100c starts out around 14.2, which is going to offer significantly more bearing protection than Mobil 1 5w30 would, which has a viscosity of only 10cst at 100c.

My Walmart doesnt stock the 0w40, do you think I should ask to have it ordered?
