Default BMR GTO - 11.23 Video

We took the project car to the track this weekend with an optimistic high 10 second goal in mind. We upgraded our converter to 3500 stall speed and were planning on testing our new progressive NOS controller. It was 74% humidity and 94 degrees out. The track temperature was 114 degrees with no wind whatsoever. Our best pass to date had been an 11.35@119mph but that was back in February with 60 degree weather. Regaurdless of the heat, we widdled our way down from 11.85 to 11.23 just by varying launch rpm and NOS activation times. It was looking like we could have made our goal but the posi went out on the next run and the next 3 passes the right rear just went up in smoke.
Anyway, here is the video of our quickest pass - VIDEO
Even though we took about 80 lbs. out of the car, we added much more with the roll bar, subframe connectors, and two 25 lb. nitrous bottles. With driver, the car weighs in at 4085 lbs!

Nice clean looking pass. Too bad about the rear. How many hard launches did the rear take before it went?

It survived about 70-80 dyno pulls and at least 25 1/4 mile passes. The burnout is what eats them up. If you can keep it straight, the posi stays locked but once the car gets a little sideways, the inside wheel goes up in smoke. It only took that 3 times before it went up in smoke.

We have run a 1.60 sixty foot time but we are pushing it with the stock CV axles. Within the next few weeks we will have custom axles available that will survive up to 800HP. They use billet CV joints and larger diameter axles made from 300M material, the strongest axle material made. Pricing is not yet available but should be somewhere around $1,000 for the pair.

I updated our signature to show our current mods. We have a 408 going together now and a 9.80 goal for this car but we are trying to get the car into the 10's with the stock shortblock

Actually we've only made one motor pass since we changed the stall speed from 2600 to 3500. It ran a 13.21 but I think it was capable of dipping into the 12's if we could have played around with the launch techniques.

We got best results leaving at 3000. Once the posi is fixed and our billet CV's installed, we plan to leave on the bottle and hopefully dip into the 10's.

How much rear wheel hp are you pushing to run a 11.23 ?
With that shot you are running is that on stock fuel pump and injectors ?

Are those stock rims in that pic in your sig ?

Our last dyno run on the bottle pulled 511RWHP. Injectors are stock however we upgraded the pump and lines to prepare for a bigger motor. The nitrous kit is wet and has it's own dedicated tank and fuel pump.

The wheels in the sig are I-Forged, 18x8F and 19x10R

Yep, stock internals. If it would just stop raining down here for one night, we could get to the track and run that 10. Our track is open for test and tune every Thursday and Saturday but it has rained the last 2 weeks straight and is supposed to rain every day this week also
