Default 2001 T/A WS6 75th Anniversary Edition - is it rare?

Is this a rare car?

2001 WS6 Pewter

I haven't been able to find another 75th anniversary edition trans am. It is the anniversary of Pontiac, not the TA/Firebird.

Just wondering if any of you know anything about the 75th anniversary edition, I haven't been able to find anything about it in Google or any TA sites.

See my sig.....

I dont know about rareity but its not common.

It seems that there were only 1037 Formulas in 2001, so right off the bat mine isnt common. I wonder how rare it really is?

That is basically what I thought.

It has a badge just like the "last of the breed" badge though, it is located directly behind the windows on the doors, kind of hard to explain. The part that is the roof, not the teetops, that wraps around the car vertically.

I would have to say though, if someone created this badge, they did an impressive job doing so.

The previous owner of the car, and the dealer I bought it from, didn't know too much about TA's though, which is why I brought this up here.

Surely someone knows something about it.

I think I got to the bottom of it.

http://www.highperformancepontiac.co...108hpp_trible/

Basically, it is just a set of badges that were made by GM. So they are original, they just didn't come on the TA's unless the dealer put them on (probably a sales gimick by the dealer).

It is real and its not just badges. I dont have any badges (they were optional).

Here is my quote from another thread.
I have a 2001 Black Formula with the 75th Aniversay package. Its the celebration of 75 years of Pontiac, not 75 years of the Firebird. The package was offered on a few other Pontaic vehicles. Its basically a trim package. I my case it includes T-Tops, leather steering wheel, leather shift ****, cloth interior, performance rear with 3.23 gears, chrome 5-star wheels (same as the T/A), automatic, and no badges indicating that its a 75th Aniversary (although supposedly they were available).

Intersting.... I'd be curiouse to see it. Thanks for the link BTW. I'm glad it wasn't me standing there, because I would have called BS on the guy.

Ah, if I could count the number of times I've looked like an *** for things like that.

ttops(dam near standered,)
t/a trim(ditto)
leather sterring wheel and shift ****(ditto)
cloth interior is an option?
3.23 gear most 01-02's A4 had these too
chrome wheels (option for any ta)

and no badges....

sounds like any other a4 ta in 01...

I have a Formula.

Now let me go though your points....
* T-Tops were optional on the Formula and standard on the T/A
* Leather steering wheel and shift **** were optional on the Formula and standard on the T/A
* Cloth was the standard interior on the Formula, Leather was standard on the T/A
* 2.73 was the standard rear gear for A4, 3.23 was an option
(most A4's have 2.73)
* Chrome wheels were optional on the Formula and standard on the T/A

A Formula is a "stripper" car. It has the appearance and amenities of the base V6 with the drivetrain and suspension of the T/A. Of course, just about anything that was available on the T/A could be had on the Formula.

hard top v8 fbodys are rare...
and in 01-02 i think the 2.73 gear is just as rare...
i agree in 98-00 most might have had that lazy gear , but in 01-02 i think most got the 3.23
also see sig(i like formys too)

my point was if its some kinda special edition then it would have SOMETHING , anything to set it apart from the other ta's out there...

ws6 got ram air
collecters edition got the 2 tone bumper and badges
hawk got the hood and exhast goodys....

my point is if it is special then it should have SOMETHING different. you know?
if i chose the same opions you have from the factory(as i could have) then what would set yours apart from mine so you could say its a 75th ed. ???

It is special because 01's are the only ones that could get the badges.

Granted, that is not that big of a deal, but 98, 99, 00, 02's can't get them

I just take it as a way to seperate the year of the cars, which is not a big deal.

I know what you mean. All they did was combine the most selected options into a package.

Dunno.
There's a long list of codes on my door and I'm not going to sort through it now. Maybe tomorrow.
