(204+218)/2-(117.5x2)=211-235= -24 degree of overlap

ok.. I'm confused. If I use this formula and applie it to my new cam coming. It's 210/218 .551/.551 LSA 112, I'm told this cam has an overlap of 52.. the math does not add up??

The VHP 062 has
(210+218)/2-(112x2)=214-224= -10 degrees of overlap

52* overlap at .006. Predator is calculating overlap at .050.

I think Vinci quotes lift at .006 to emphasise the fast ramps.

Well, the VHP will have to be tuned properly to pass emmisions (sniff).
It will make more Trq down low which is basically what it is designed for.
It will have a lower powerband, I would say max at 6100>maybe 6300 depending the advance in grind.
The VHP lobes are unique. They would work best with the VHP/Crane 1.79 rockers.
THe VHP cams have matching valvetrain packages to maximise potential and are best used with them for uptimum output.
For advice and tuning Joe or Roger Vinci know their products best.

I will give Vinci a call. Well what you have discribed, is basicly what I'm looking for. More power/torque down low and mid. I would like a bit more on the top end- 6500 redline. But if power peaks at 6-6.2, i guess this is ok.. The cam is ground with 5 degrees advance into it...

What is your thought on idle quality?

http://www.vincihighperformance.com/...%20LS1%202.htm click the sound byte for the 047 cam. the only difference between the 047 and 062 is the lift. that'll give you an idea of the idle quality. and you can ask roger about it. the sound byte is from the c5 test car they are using.

Adding these VHP Rockers 1.79 will add what. Power, torque... I know the lift will increase, I am going with the Patriot gold springs, I've been told these are one of the best springs... But increasing the lift with the 1.79 rockers, won't this increase idle chop also?
Will increasing the lift cause more friction and wear on the spings/roller lifters. I'm keep the lifter stock.

Should i thinking about upgrading my Z06 oil pump to a ported blue-printed oil pump and a double roller chain.. My Z only has 5,100 miles..

the VHP rockers are what's called accelerated lift. they start of at 1.79. then about .250 lift they convert back to about 1.72. so overall lift increases slightly. here's their page explain it. http://www.vincihighperformance.com/...RTSPARENT.HTML

i had them install the 1.89 accelerated lift rockers to the wife's 99 formula. here's the dyno results. NOTE: the torque peak is misleading. there was a spike at the beginning of the run. i also had them install their dual springs as well. if you are going with their cam, might as well get their springs to match.

I guess I'll get them for the added 10 to hopefully 15 hp and torque alike..
I received the cam today. I'll call roger for the rockers.
Any thoughts on oil pump or D. chain?

they have it all there for you. just look around their site. you'll find everything you need. springs, rocker kit, timing chain, oil pump, spring tool to swap the springs, and the handheld tuner to make the PCM changes needed to get the most out of your cam and rockers. http://www.vincihighperformance.com/superwebdeals.HTML

click here and then click engine on the left to see and order the oil pump and timing chain. http://www.vincihighperformance.com/...20MAINPAGE.htm

Mrr23,
sounds like you work there... I was asking if upgrading the oil pump & chain is a good idea or just overkill

sorry. don't work for them. but i do work WITH them. the wife's car is a test car for their LS1 products. first 2 client's cars are mine and my wife's formulas. http://www.vincihighperformance.com/fbodyls1.html never a bad idea to replace stuff. you are adding more pressure via the springs. this will make the camshaft harder to turn. this will accelerate the wear on the stock timing chain. so a stronger one is insurance. same with the oil pump.
