When you go 28x10.5 you need to cut a lot on a TA.

With the car setting on the ground on the 28" tires i used a ruler and measured 1.5 inches from the tire. Then I walked the ruler down the tire holding the marker at 1.5 inches making a cut line on the bumper cover. I used a dremel with a saw tooth disk to cut the plastic and a cutoff disk for the metal. ill try and post the pictures today

I just cut the bottom lips in the front and back, nothing on the outside. I haven't had any problems.

Please pardon the rubber I was at the track on sunday and the car is REALLY dirty
You can see that I still rub a little on the top. I dont rub at all in the front. On the other side I dont rub in the back at all, but I do rub a little in the front. I have adjustable LCA's so ill be working with that some more. There is some metal on the inside under the plastic that had to be cut, This winter Ill be cutting some stainless to cover the hole. I can weld it to the inner fender.
it looks like right now

The extreme trimming is the edge on the back rear bumper.

Mine is Formula, but I cut out some of the inner part of the rear bumper cover but tried to keep the contours intact:

I have even lowered my car bigtime and I did not have to cut a ton but I might have to roll my fenders.

One thing to remember is a lot depends on your LCAs, rubber bushings will let the rear move enough forward on the launch that even 'two fingers' of clearance will rub. Same on the rear bumper when you slam on the brakes.

Even poly bushings move some, rod end LCAs = very little trimming for 28" tires.

I have the spohn poly-rod adjustable LCA's. One thing that may have made me have to trim more than some others is I used the 7.5 inch convo pros rims. This rim is to small (even though many posted on the board telling me they worked well) This small rim pulls the sidwall in pushing the center out giving me an artificialy larger diameter.

Have you had any problems w/ tire growth? I cut my rear bumper back to the metal like koolrayz did and I'm still worried. I used a dremel w/ a toothed cut-off wheel too. I also heated the urethane w/ a hair dryer to soften it up a little more. Probably wasn't necessary, but ehh. I'm going to roll the fender lips and probably cut the front side of the wheel well before it's all said and done. I'd rather hit urethane than metal @ 160mph. The biggest part of my work was on the inner fenderwell. I run a 28" W-tire on a 9.75" Bogart wheel and I had to knock off the bump stop and beat a lot of metal in. Gave me something constructive to do w/ the old lady pissed me off.

When I get the new rear bumper on the car, I'm going to redo the clearancing. I'll keep the leading edge of the bumper (the piece that koolrayz cut off), do my clearancing, mold it back onto the bumper and then spray it. I think it'll look a lot better.

This is what I've got now...
