Got faster SI......1.49 60'!
Me and Pop's left out around 10 this morning for Jackson. Got down there a little after noon. Parked with the SCFYB crew that had the dogs on the grill. Too bad we already ate, food looked good! Anyways, warmed the car up and set the air pressure at 11psi in the drags. Front shocks at 2 and the rear Qa1's at 5. Got in the water box and did a pretty good burnout an staged. Rrrr's at 2500 and felt the tires come up. Stayed halfway straight through the traps to a..

Not too bad for the first pass out. Pop's wasn't looking at my rear tires so I didn't know if I dead hooked or not. Next run I dropped the air down to 10psi and left the shock setting the same. Did my burnout and staged....Felt the tires come up again.....

Humm. Lowering the air hurt me. It did the same thing at Darlington. Let the car cool off while the SVT boy's were doing their deal with awards and made a few more changes. Raised the air pressure up to 12psi in the drags and decided to tighten up the front shocks. Set the fronts on 3 and got back in staging. Did my burnout and the car left hard. I knew this was a good run because it has never carried the front tires out that far before. Rrr's at 3000...Got my slip and it read....
1.49 60' !!!!!!!!! Bam baby!

Well, there it is. This one's for you Mr. tech guy at Richmond grear that said that it wasn't possible for a 10 bolt to go 1.4x's with a posi unit. Well the upstate boy's just did it with a BONE STOCK MOTOR! Someone above is watching over me. I must be doing something right. Freaking amazing. The capabilities of these cars are endless. What a day for racing. Its all about setting goals and seeing them through. Not a better feeling in the world. All the "stuff" I've dealt with the past few months, it just makes it melt away. Got myself together and made another change. The car liked the air I put in so I bumped it up a tad more. Set the drags on 12.5psi and tightened up th rear shocks to 6. Got back in line. Rrr's at 3000....
1.49 60' Again??!!??
Car got loose at the 1/8th so I let out. Wild, just wild. This 10 bolt is tough as nails. Cannot believe that thing is hanging tough. The car keeps wanting to pull Left and fishtail after I correct it. Think the posi unit is strating to let go. Hot lapped the car to get back in line before staging closed. Left the settings the same. Rrr's at 3000....

Was very pleased with the day. Got a couple new bests and had a great time with friends and didn't break anything. Thanks again to Travis for hooking me up with the launch pics on all my runs! Can't wait to see those! This Yank converter leaves hard!
2 thumbs up goes out to the Milkman for helping me out with my computer!!! I think we got it where we want it now man. Thanks again for all your help and your lightning fast services. Couldn't do it without you man. I love doing business with people like that.

Rob- thanks man!
Magnus- I VERY seriously doubt I'll ever run the # that you ran. Big congrats again for a sweet time. I'm not out here to beat your record I promise you that. At this point with the car, whatever I can get out of it, I'll take. I never would have thought the car would do what it done. It keeps impressing me when you throw mods at it. I want to run 7.0x's in the 1/8th. After we do that, may go into the motor but thats atleast a year away. I think I've met the limits of the stock LS1 intake. Same goes for my Mac unported headers. I think I can pick up alot with the Dynatech race headers with collector mufflers and save weight. Stock brakes are still on the car and I'm having a serious problem with the front calipers sticking (holding pressure on the rotors at all times). So its time for Strange brakes there.....Man at the money you can spend on these cars! Also, I'm still running 26" tall ET Drags and not sure of the 60' or 1/4 mile capabilities there with the 3.73 gear I'm running. I cannot believe the setup has went as far as it has. I crossed the traps at 6200 all day on the passes I made it all the way through the 1/4. Shifting around 6400 with the limiter set at 6500. Here's a detailed list of my journey with stock internals....

I have no problem if you want to beat my #.. I'm cool about it.
There is still a lot left in your setup that will bring you in-range..
more gear, more tire, the drag brakes will help... a 90mm LSX would be nice too.. and forget about mufflers man.
Try holding the rpm's around 3500 for the launch.. My PT4400 liked it up there.
I know I dead hooked when the car just went.. If the car didn't dead hook I would feel a kick or two from the back.. when the tires were slip/grab/slip/grabbing.
Also, a little more tire psi in the rear may help overall.. i run around 14psi warm.

I would like to try 28's in the future like what you ran but in order to do that I would need a 12 bolt and more gear like you said.
Yeah I need that 90mm Fast setup! lol you're right, mufflers are heavy. I have 3" bullets on the car that practically do nothing now considering they have a 3" hole all the way through
When I stall her over 3000, my car will push through the beams. I'm kinda concerned when I put these strange brakes on if they will hold that much? Or are they better at holding? Soon as the rpm's hit 3100, my car is creeping forward and I'm HARD on the brakes.
At 12.5 psi cold. They were right at 13.5psi after I made the pass. So I'm right there where you were at. Will try a little more next time out. Thanks again for the heads up. We all on the same team here! I'm here to help out anyone on this board, just wanted everyone to know that. Thanks again Magnus and good luck to your new setup. I'm sure your cam only car will be flying!

My strange brakes all around allow me to stall the car well into the 4K's.. they hold more than the stockers..
Try bleeing all your brakes again, and bleed them good... That may help you hold more R's at the line.

Music to my ears. Good deal.
We bled the crap out of those things a few months ago thinking they got air in the lines when the car sat untouched for 2 years. Didn't get any air out. Oh well, time for the strange's. Thanks man!
I'm going to throw this in, take it or leave it. Try out some ET radials. Your not making silly HP to where hooking on them wont happen, they're 95% as good as the drags, but they're going to help your fishtailing, tracking, and improve your MPH over the ET drags. If your not ready to spend the $$, borrow a pair just to see.

I understand where you're coming from but I don't know if they'll handle 60's in the 1.4x range with my setup. I don't know anyone with those tires I could use. We'll see. I love the consistency of these drags. The fishtailing has to be my factory Auburn giving out. Time to do something there but not sure what. I am going to keep the 10 bolt for the time being. Thanks for the info!
Shawn- glad to see you're still on here. Yeah, Jackson is an AWESOME track. 2 thumbs up to those guy's down there cause they are not scared to dump out the VHT. I don't run Commerce anymore due to their stupid tech guy's trying to rip out my race seat last year. *sigh* It takes alot to tick me off and they did just that. I consider myself a humle kind of guy but that night I was fired up after the tech guy bent my seat bracket. Jackson is a better setup track than Commerce as far as I'm concerned. Good to hear from ya bro!

Would be a long ways to go for 1 pass. Let me know if I was told wrong. Would like to come up there and run with you guy's. I think Jay_99Z is coming up with his SI setup from SC.

congrats, some killer times! And the timeline is sweet too for those of us needing an idea of what to do and what it did for et and speed.

congrats on the numbers!
and WHY was the dude messing with your seat?
Thanks guy's. I try to keep a pretty good list of what I've done to the car and ET. This board is all about info and I'm not scared to share any I have! Hope that list can help people out.
Black- The Commerce Tech guy........Ok, Me and a few bud's roll down to Atlanta for a Fast Friday around Halloween last year. Got down there and pop'd my pin-on hood off and headed to tech. Got to the tech guy and he asked me "Do you have a hood?" I told him yes that the fastener plates pop rivited to the feders of the car were there for a reason. We not running a backyard car here. Then he's all over my Hawker Genesis battery in the stock location. He's grabbing it and pulling on it. He thought he could move it around but he couldn't budge it
Then he asked "Is that battery big enough to crank this car?" I told him that the battery was big enough to jump off a big rig. I can see at this point the guy is trying HARD to be a jerk and I'm laid back playing his little games. The he gets inside the car and pulls on my seat. I have my seat mounted by a 1/4" thick piece of aluminum in 2 places. He pushes and pulls with all his might and bends my seat backwards to where I would look like a thug rolling through town. This man was a BIG man btw. He did pass me but we had to re-do the bracket. Thats why I don't run Commerce. Kinda like little children who like to play games. Heck with all that....
Heck with all that.... great #'s, and if he'd have screwed up my seat, hed have spent a few minutes laying on his... thats a lil screwed up there man.. glad to hear u got ur 1.49, now u need to come back with 28's 12bolt 4.30 gears, new headers, no mufflers, cage!, lsx intake ect... the loss of midlengths and lsx intake would prolly make up for the extra wieght of cage and loss of power thru 12bolt.. i think u could benefit from more tire, and anymore gear in that 10botl will prolly be its breaking point!
