Magnacharger is installed! Dyno results...
So I installed the Magnacharger on Saturday with the help of my buddies from Magnaflow, did the whole install from beginning to end in one day. Install was pretty straightforward, a bit painstaking at times, but it's a true bolt-on kit. No special tools or skills required. The install manual had a couple flaws, but nothing too difficult to figure out. Initial driving of the car felt awesome, the torque was just everywhere, which really helps this heavy pig of a car git up and go. It just keeps pulling and pulling until you chicken out and let off the gas, it's really a badass street setup. Drivability is completely unchanged. It starts up and idles like a stock motor, and behaves perfectly on the street.
On to the dyno. After reading a lot of the posts on ls1gto.com I was worried about heat soak. I had seen people make good numbers when everything is cold then watch the power go to ***** when it starts warming up. Before making the first dyno run we let it warm up all the way, I didn't want any dyno queen numbers (nothing worse than having to explain why the mph doesn't match the dyno numbers). I wanted to see how much of an issue the heat soak really was so we did three runs back to back with just under four minutes between them, and left the motor running the whole time.

You can see here that the numbers are very consistent across all three runs, and it appears that the heat soak power loss is negligible if any. I would expect to lose a few horses between runs, even on a naturally aspirated motor.
Next step: Magnaflow cat-back. I was always impressed with the stock exhaust, so I wasn't expecting much with the addition of an aftermarket catback. The Magnaflow, however, proved to be a bitchin' addition. Apart from looking badass and sounding mean as hell, the kit is MUCH lighter than the stock catback and actually made good power! Here's a graph of my best run bone stock, then with the Magnacharger, and then with the addition of the Magnaflow catback.

quicksilverado I think you're right, there's probably some more power here with a custom tune. I think the MagnaCharger tune is a bit on the "safe" side.
I think the kit retails for $5995, and you should definitely be able to do the install yourself. Keep in mind that the price sounds like a lot compared to other kits, but it comes with EVERYTHING you need, ie intercooler, upgraded fuel rails with bigger injectors, programmer with custom tune, intake plumbing with K&N, etc, etc.

I'm in the same boat as you BlueSix, That 2500 rpm 400 TQ is very appealing. I'm having no luck trying to sell the GOAT so I might as well blow it up! Even thogh the Procharger has better number hp wise, cheaper, more potential theres something about the Maggies thats attracting me to it. How was the hood clearence? any pics?

wrench, no hood clearance issues, in fact the stock STB fits over the blower.
