Default LS2 GTO Dyno Tune Results with HP Tuners VCM Suite 2.0

Using HP Tuners VCM Suite 2.0 and our new USB Interface, we tuned an LS2 GTO with intake/headers over at Speed INC on Saturday.

With tuning the vehicle picked up 22rwhp.

The LS2's definately have a lot more left in them with a good tune.

You can read more about it here:

Had he dynoed it with just the headers installed? Curious what, if anything, they were worth. Those numbers are right at what I have been seeing after tuning bone stock, very low mile, LS2 vehicles. I also can't imagine just shutting off Cat Overtemp Protect Mode. I have redone a ton of PCMs that people have done that to, and the car owner ends up buying new Cats. There are ways to avoid that, and still not have it go pig rich @ WOT. Simply shutting that function off is awfully hard on Cats. They go in & out of that protect mode during extended highway speeds. There are ways to prevent that happening during WOT runs only, leaving that mode functioning normally otherwise.

Your list is a little more thoughtfull than Keiths. I am impressed

I am predicting June 11. HPTuners has a habit of releasing these things when I am on a business trip or working overtime.

VCM Suite 2.0 has many features which I have never seen before.

Much of VCM Suite 2.0 consists of innovative firsts which will most likely be adopted as standards in these types of products.

When we sat down and discussed the feature set of VCM Suite 2.0, much of the conversation involved making VCM Suite the Photoshop of the tuning world.

So much of VCM Suite 2.0 is done on the fly.. Most of the interface configuration can be done live without having to restart the scanner, or close/re-open your bin files, etc..

Of course my oppinion is biased.. however VCM Suite 2.0 is the product of over a years worth of customer feedback and intense feedback from some of our larger tunershop customers.

I am looking forward to the reviews on release.

Nah, We don't want to get thrown off track

As we are the only ones who allow you to view histogram, chart data, table data and status bit data on the same scanner screen in v1.X, you will really be impressed with the next generation software's functionality.

I was ready to upgrade back in January when it was supposed to be out, but have since moved on. IMO, I already have the industry standard and it just gets better and better with the frequent free updates.

It sounds like a very nice package, but until the public can actually see and use it, it doesn't really help any of those that have HPT.

Or an editor that will compare any file regardless of operating system
That would be a nice addition. How come it took so long just to get a compare feature to begin with?

Or an editor that has an advanced tree style history that is editable post save
Mind expanding on this? I understand the tree style history, but what is editable post save?

Or an editor that has 2 styles of navigation for the user’s preference
I agree that this would be nice.

Or a scanner that is fully customizable on the fly
I assume you mean you don't have to connect/re-connect to add/subtract PIDS. Again, this would be nice, but is this something you want people to do while trying to drive the car?

There are some great features it appears to have to offer, but to me it sounds like HPT is trying to come across as the be all end all package and to me that is just not the case. It has taken IMO forever to get the items you describe above, when some of them are already available on other packages and probably should have been included in one of the many updates that you guys have had. To me when choosing a package for our cars, its what you prefer, like Chevy/Ford. I have had both and know what I like. Chevy first, then tried a Ford for a bit (not as nice) and am back to a Chevy.

Can't wait to see what all 2.0 has and can do. I know a lot of my friends are patiently waiting on the release. Like HumpinSS said, "Show me the Money".

I have been waiting for VER 2.0 for a long time as well but from what I see this is going to worth the wait. I just wish they would hurry up too...

How many of you guys have used LS1 Edit? HP Tuner VER 1.2 was leaps and bounds more advanced than LS1 Edit Ver 1.5 is. Look how far HP Tuners have come in the last year with VER 1.7 just released.

How many of you have used the LS1 Edit scanner? I have once and it's very hard to use.

HP Tuners is the new standard when it comes to tuning LS1 engines. They have the best deal around with no real competition when it comes to price, options and performance.
