Default LG Motorsports Heads/Cam package 9.9@132 (Stock bottom end) NA

01-Z and I are duking it out.. i finally got my setup done and took it out today with PSJ to get some shakedowns.

The car now has an LG Motorsports heads/cam package.. A pretty agressive setup at that. The car did 10.29 cam only, and went 9's today with the heads/cam package in crappy air.

I made 8 passes total.. John got most of them on video.. You guys will love the air.. it was sick.

I started off with a little more than 1/2 a tank of gas. I over filled for the dyno session on friday.

First pass was not shabby at all for the first of the combo. It launched nicely and landed nicely. Front shocks were at 3. I started off with them stiff to avoid putting it on the bumper.:

60'-1.29
330'-4.054
1/8th-6.353
MPH-106.3
1000'-8.355
1/4-10.055
MPH-132.75

Second pass spun the 28x10.5 W's to a 10.02@133.. was lame on a 1.36 60'.

Third pass I lowered the front shocks to 2 and dead hooked and tripped the 60' beams with the rear tires. The video will show evidence of this as well as a little blurb I write up in a few. I also hit the rev limiter on both shift. :

60'-1.312
330'-4.018
1/8th-6.318
MPH-106.32
1000'-8.324
1/4-10.026
MPH-131.89

Fourth pass I spun to a 10.02@132.8 again with a crappy 60' and better shifting.

Fifth pass I lowered the front shocks to 1 now.. figured it wasn't going to flip.. and of course I carry the wheelie past the 60' again and trip them with the rear tire.. but the car seems to faster with a bigger wheelie. (Take note those of you who say wheelies aren't good.. it all dependson the setup )

60'-1.322 <- on the back tires
330'- 4.005
1/8th-6.284
MPH-106.90
1000'-8.277
1/4-9.967
MPH-132.78

The DA for this pass was +1100.

Not much I can do now.. fronts are at their softest settings and I can't go any lower with the rear tire psi.. I just have to hope for good traction.

Next pass I tripped the 60' on the rear tires again..

60'-1.324
330'-4.007
1/8th-6.290
MPH-106.83
1000'-8.287
1/4-9.984
MPH-132.29

Next pass I spun a little bit.. so the nose came down and tripped the 60' with the front tires.

60'-1.293
330'-4.021
1/8th-6.302
MPH-107.09
1000'-8.294
1/4-9.985
MPH-133.18

133 mph for probably being +1300 DA at this point. Sucky air.

Last pass after that just sucked.. spun again.

Now, how I know I was tripping on the rear beams.. Compare the above 1.2 60's 330 #'s to those low 1.3 330 #'s... The video will back this up as well.

Thankfully the car left straight and landed straight. Even with the R shocks up front though the landing was pretty voilent. It still felt like it bounced when it carried it up pretty high. I wanted to lower the front end to add some rake (current rear to front rake is at 0 degrees) but I'm not sure if the landings can handle it.

Also, my LCA's actually point downward (rear to front) so I need to get some reloc brackets and hopefully that will help traction.

To compare it with 01-Z's #'s...

01-Z, DA: +55
60'-1.246
330-3.971
1/8th-6.246
MPH-107.67
1000'-8.231
1/4-9.919
MPH-133.18

Magnus, DA: +1100
60'-1.322 <- on the back tires
330'- 4.005
1/8th-6.284
MPH-106.90
1000'-8.277
1/4-9.967
MPH-132.78

Another nice comparison is this :

01-Z:
60'-1.265
330'-4.025

Magnus:
60'-1.322 <- on the back tires
330'- 4.005 <- notice the lower 330'

Anyway, our shootout at mayhem in morocco should be pretty damn close.

I'm sure my car would do a high 9.7 in great air at its current weight with traction. I'll take it out more often when it gets cooler out. Today was t-shirt weather.

Big thanks to www.LGMotorsports.com and www.LS1Speed.com !

Not really sure if it has a name. .. if you can put a name on a package that is basically as agressive as you can get on a stock bottom end, then that's the name for this package.

Louis sure knows how to pick them.

It's nice having someone to run neck and neck with for verification.
Nice job homer!

Mayhem will be crazy!

Of course, I won't bring the heavyweight to that battle.

So sean.. what's your trick to keep the front end down before the 60' and yet still cut great 60's..

Even with me tripping them on the back tires, your 330' is still better.. Maybe the 2 step hits your converter harder than launching off the brake?

The X4 is a pretty powerful cam. I never said I pulled it.

My car has received a few other tricks from the goodie bag for this setup as well.. the winner between 01-Z and I will most likely be determined by reaction time.

I have been following your times and a few other guys. I am thinking about pulling my F13 for the X4. I know the cars are totally different, but I feel it might help me some.

So what about that VE table....

For info on the heads/cam package you'll really need to contact Louis@ LG motorsports. I'm sure he can set you up with a great cam for your individual setup.
