nice mock up pics.i might be doing the same thing.i have a/c delete dash, vents, and controls for a third gen.my 2000 T/A drove before i took it apart for my swap.i have two third gens one old wreck and one reciving the LS1 / T56 drivetrain. i took the a/c delete dash out of the wreck and mocked up the fourth gen dash cover. it would not fit over the old dash bracketry ,im not to sure i want to cut up my car. what all did you have to do to make that dash work? dose it work yet? i wanted to have the fourth gen dash and gauges to work but i dont know what to do about heater controls. the wrecked car weighed in at 3100 lbs. when it ran. no power anything no a/c and no tilt it was an 84 with a 92 TPI and a 5 speed. the 91 i am working on will end up the same no power a/c or tilt. the weight i saved on the LS1 will probley come back with the 6 speed and beefy sphon torque arm crossmember and k member so it will end up the same weight.i have and could instal the fourth gen a/c,heater the controls, venting and wiring but i liked the light car. non a/c cars have unique venting they have two little t handles under the steering wheel that you pull to open the fresh air vents. i just dont know how to intergrate that with the fourth gen dash. well if i do figure somthing out and go with the fourth gen dash how did the windshield pillar covers work with the newer dash? what did you do,trim back the hard plastic peice that goes inbetween the dash cover and windshield? i am also going to run without a center consol , i can get carpet without cutouts and have a nice clean tranny hump with the shifter and boot sticking out of it. i think that would look neat you dont see that on third gens.if i go with the fourth gen dash i might put those vent controls right where the consol would meet the dash, if i go with the third gen dash i would use the front part of the consol where the heater controls and radio are and termanate it right after the ashtray straight down keeping those little carpet colored heat vents. but i would try to intergrate the fourth gen gauge pod into the third gen dash,i think that would be pretty easy. did you get your gauges working?did you use a factory harness for your swap or did you get an aftermarket harness? did you retain the ALDL port? did you get the turn signal indicators working how hard was that? i have more questions i just cant think of them right now. sorry for writing a book . any help would be apreciated , thanks

Definitely a different kind of LS1 swap !
1) Christine is a 1978 Chevrolet Caprice Classic 2 door Coupe.
2) Stock 1998 Trans Am LS1/ TH350
3) Link to Thread with more info/story is here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-swaps/788613-could-first-ls1-swap-hmmm.html
As far as I know ( I could be wrong ) Christine is the only 1977-1979 Chevrolet Caprice 2-Door Coupe to be LS1 Powered.
By the way I took Christine ( my Caprice ) to the track ( KCIR ) Friday night, but I was only able to get one run in due to how many people were at the track last night and the fact that they had to clean up 3 or 4 oil spills.
Without stalling it up, and just leaving off the footbrake on 2 Year old drag radials , and running through the full exhaust instead of opening the Cutouts, it managed to knock down a 13.25 @ 100 mph with her Stock 98 LS1. =)
P.S. Yes I know the Caprice is a big ugly heavy granny mobile looking turd....... but thats the way I like it, because it helps add to the "Sleeper" effect.

I just got through (well sort of) installing a 1999 Camaro LS-1 and 4L60E into my 1981 Chevy K-5 Blazer 2WD. First engine swap and my first electrical project ever.
I will try and post some pics soon once I get the engine bay looking a little better.
