it allows clearance for turbos. most turbo headers or downpipes occupy the space the alternator sits so you need to move it up top.

Can you send me a picture of this unit? If I can see it I am pretty sure I will buy one.
Thanks
Elec

Picture of just the bracket. Any modification needed for this?

if you have aftermarket fuel rails like i do, you have to trim the back of the alternator cover a bit, and use a hose to pipe thread type instead of the pipe thread to an then an to hose.
you can see this on the pics ill post

Bracket looks good, I might be interested. How high does the top of the alternator extend above the intake Manifold? ~3 inches??? A measurement from either the top of the MAF or maybe the top of the water pump would help me decide.

Thanks,
Michael

ok from the top of the throttle body to the highest point of the alternator is 2.75"
from the flat of the water pump (above the hose connection, the flat spot where they tap the truck water nossle at) is 7.25"
let me know if you want one or not.

That would be great for all the road grime and water mine has seen, but I still have egr (required for emissions)so it doesnt appear to work with that

Yes its the stock alternator.
i have seen a couple of people use that bracket and keep their egr, not sure how they moved things as i have long since removed mine.
my alternator stays alot cleaner up top.
