Livernois motorsports single turbo mach 1 vs 1999 camaro ss
well, this guy just who talks alot of **** just bought a single turbo mach 1 from livernois motorsports..(you can go to their webpage and click under customer's rides). the car puts down 779rwhp and 785 rwtq. The car is nice and super clean and he claims that he wont get beat here in miami by anybody. well, all it took was one phone call and out it comes a 408ci supercharged 1999 camaro ss.
So much talking, so much bullshit and after 1hr of just straight talk they finally lock in a street race for this following thursday.
The reason why they didnt race is because the guy in the mach1 said he cant drive his car. He isnt used to that kind of power so he has to call his " jeff gordon" driver wanna be friend and he cant make it out there last night.
This should be interesting, but my money is on that camaro ss.
Did i mention they will race for 5 grand?

Whoa! I think if I owned that car (Mach 1) I'd be talking smack too! Hell, I do that now LOL! That list of mods on that thing is impressive, not to mention the turbo. I like the NX 50shot for insurance too. That would put the total rwhp up around 830. I'm thinking that Camaro is going to have his hands full. I'll join the chorus of voices who would like to see a video of this match up!

Every once in awhile I see these threads where two Big Muscle cars want to have a showdown but I cannot recall even one that went down. Someone always backs out with an excuse and then both parties have excuses until it is forgotten. I hope this one happens...
It would be a power house of a race and with $5,000.00 it would make for a lot of interest. ****! I bet "Pinks" would consider it for ratings even though it is not for Pinks.

thats gonna be rediculous. if these guys have the money to own the cars they own and put up 5 grand, then i know one of them MUST own a decent friken video camera. that being said, a video is a must. id be pretty fearful of that mach 1 though...that is some serious power. good luck to both and be safe!

well a well built 408 should be close to 500 hp NA....and ive seen NA 346's with prochargers with almost 500hp....so his s/c'd 408 should be close with the Mach as far as power goes...

the camaro is a built hpe 408 with a paxton novi 2000 on it. it is also automatic with a built rear end. Both of them will be on drag radials and it is supposed to be from a dig.

Thats the mach 1 that was for sale on ebay no? As for a well build 408 putting down 500 rwhp, this is true but it is running fairly high compression. That would have to be lowered to run the blower and would result in a loss of power. N/A I say the 408 is putting about 475 to the wheels, and with the blower he should be in the low 700's. I will come down to traction and I say since the Camaro is Auto it should win.

well, i wouldnt say the SS has high compression, since we dont really know....he might have had it built w/ low CR with the intenion of boosting it later on (which it is now).
i still give the win to the SS. both should be close as far as power is concerned. i assume it will be from a dig, so the auto sc car will have the advantage. unless of couse the mach is on a 2step boosting on the line....but yet again, i still give the win to the auto - mainly b/c of consistancy.

Yup, it was on eBay. I would agree with Ouchburns on the power level. I know from experience that the Mach is traction limited and I drove it on ET Streets... I couldn't even imagine trying to do it on a DR.
