Manifold Photos
I'm contemplating swapping an LS engine into a Vega (1977) but really don't want to get into fabricating headers. I'm thinking iron exhaust manifolds should work well for the power level I'm looking for. Has anybody out there successfully done this?
Here's what I've figured out on my own so far by looking at photos:
Truck manifolds will not work.
Cadillac CTS-V manifolds look like they may work with some possibility of interference on the left (driver's) side.
The rear manifold on the LS4 (Impala) looks like it would come out of the wheel well regardles of which side I mount it on. I haven't been able to find a good picture of the front manifold.
If any body can post photos of some different manifolds, It sure would be appreciated.

I'm swapping an LS1 into a 78 Monza and the only ones that fit are the 98 Camaro manifolds. You may be able to use the pacesatter camaro shorty headers but I'm not sure. The 98 manifolds need the large triangle flange cut down to a smaller size to clear but the exit almost in the same place as smallblock Sanderson headers.
Good luck,
Bill

Stu, I was keeping an eye on that auction. They went cheap enough ($41.00).
Bill, Thanks for the heads up. Now I know what to look for. LS1 in a '78 Monza, that should be a blast to drive. What are you using for a tranny and rear end?

98 Camaro drivers side manifold looks nothing like the CTS-v manifold.
I'm using a th350 and a 7.625" 28 spline rearend. Email me for details. I'll be done with it in April. We have an H-body meet coming up in May or June at Quaker City Raceway in ohio. Let me know if you need more info.

Those are the first design 1997 Corvette "sheet metal" manifolds, they are formed and welded. The other side looks almost exactly the same. Alot of people overlook these because they were only used on the earliest LS1 engines...Corvette only. I gather there are not many around. I threw away a perfect set of these a couple years ago while cleaning the shop. The two sets I had were "scrap" from header installations.
I can email you some pics of the 98 camaro manifolds installed if you like. That'll give you an idea of the tight clearences in the engine bay. The later Vegas shared the same unibody stamping as the Monza. The early Vegas are a bit smaller in there.

Here is a picture of a set of '04 gto manifolds. I bought these off ebay for 110 shipped and they are for sale if anyone is interested. I also have a set of the older vette ones like Oscar's picture above for sale for 50 + shipping. If interested, I can get you a pic of these later today.
Thanks,

my old 98 f-body pass side manifold looks exactly like the drivers side cts-v manifold
The GTO and Corvette manifolds look like they will not fit also.Bill

Monsa355, Oscarwill, and anybody else. Im having trouble with my a/c lines. No room for them at all. I bought a block that directs them up. See my other post on 1-23 about skinny a/c lines. That piece works great except the male threads are hitting the manifold. No room for the female end at all. The a/c is in the factory place. Any ideas?
On your A/C problem, I'm using an adapter from Hot Rod Air that allows me to use a couple of 90 degree fittings which I aimed downward near the framerail. I don't know what your clearance is but it was a pretty decent solution for my problem.
here is a ebay pic of some late CTS-V manifolds I bought for my 41 truck.

Hmm, those look a lot like LS2 vette manifolds to me.... I think the CTS-V manifolds dump more towards the rear rather than the center.
