Default Dyno difference between 2004 and 2005-2006 CTS-V?

They are both rated at 400hp/395tq from the stuff I have read... But I'm thinking 335rwhp for the 04 and 350rwhp for the 05... What have you guys seen?

Are the 05/06's cars better in any way other than having maybe a better rear end (and is that just a rumor)?

The 04/05s are the same with LS6's, and seem to dyno a little lower than the 06's with LS2's. The LS2's have had the m12 gear ratios change from what I understand, and the 06's come with a newly revised getrag, though some V owners have been fortunate enough to have the 06 rear diff warrantied in place of the 04/05 pos.

And do the rear seats fold down? I'm guessing no but it looked like they did in a picture.

Hey Parker, you strike me as an abusive driver, how is yours holding up? You have any of those aftermarket parts from BMR to address wheelhop? I'll have to look for you on IM tomorrow.

these cars do hold up fine but that all depends on the person behind the wheel. If you have the 04/05, your subjectible to the rear end failing but usually it is replaced before, with the gear whine as the indication of any major damage that can possibly occur.

There hasnt been any 06 diff, that i have heard of, that has reported any problems but i feel its still to early to make a concrete statement like...yes, the 06 rear is worry free.

THe BMR suff is common but it is also the only suspension parts available. Their AWHK seems to help out but not 100%. There is also another solution but that is from a non-sponsor though i feel that his bar is very well designed and there has been som every positive reviews.

The ls2 have dyno'd higher though they are rated equal. It was stated that, and i agree, the ls2 90mm manifold and tb, combined with the extra cubes of the 365 have to do with that. More air of course.

So, wats up john? THinking of joining the club? THese are fantastic cars. They are other options but for the money, they are very sweet and im sure its not necesary to say how much potential these ls6/ls2 equipped have. The issues are just as common as the 10 bolt/wheel hop issue in the f-bodies.... created so there will be topics to talk about on the forums!! But i wouldnt tkae back my decision of purchasing this machine, its a great daily driver, really stealth, and can be easily built to unleash terror on an unsuspecting m5/e55/....whatever with only an few mods.

I'm kickin' tires right now...

Are folks actually paying $50K for new ones?

John - I may be interested in selling my 05 for a reasonable price. It has the upgraded 06 rear - otherwise 100% stock 05 w/ 8k miles. 2 Brand New F1 Supercars and 2 50%.

I ended up paying a little more than $40k for mine when all said and done. That was used in O5' right before GM released the incentives .

No. Dealers are making deals on them. That plus GM just lowered prices on all CTS cars, including Vs.

You should be able to deal for one in the 47-48k range easily.

I Got mine, an 05 with a bit over 800 miles, a bit over 43K, bit over. (Monty anyone?)

Mine was a demo for the Superball down here in jacksonville and was outfitted with the GM carbon fiber engine package....to be honest, the carbonf fiber WAS the selling point.

I have always loved this car but when i opened the hood, i was like "and it has carbon fiber?...(insert drool!) wow.... Ok, can i take it for a test drive?....45 minutes later, i was on my way home!!!

BUHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!! THis car is crazy!! Im still stok'd!!
